In fact, it looks like Armoured Elephants are even better at countering other Siege, than Rams are.
Making 10 scorpions and 2 onagers and dravidians cannot do anything about this. Try for yourself.
You know they lack late eco tech right? Please approach the game objectively. Japanese infantry is stronger than Dravidians. 33% Faster attacking is way better than Armour negation. And yet they get knights, better trebs with UT and superior towers.
Understand before commenting. It is better if you dont comment rather than meaningless blob of words.
The devs shared an image of Dravidian Stables when they were putting out teasers a while ago and it showed all Imperial Age cavalry being crossed out. So I think in a way it is the 'gimmick' of this civ, no Imperial Age cavalry upgrades. The devs never change a gimmick once they put it out, be it Burmese not having two archer armours or Malay not having two cavalry armours.
I personally think Dravidians could be the only Indian civ to get Knights, just like how Hindustanis still get Cavalry Archers instead of Elephant Archers. Not even Cavalier, just some basic Knights. Knights that are missing Bloodlines, Husbandry and Plate Barding. It adds some much needed (strong) mobility to the civ. In the Castle Age you could throw out a surprise but suboptimal Knight rush like how Vikings do sometimes. Wootz Steel gives the unit a much needed boost in Imperial.
-They are good on water
True in a noob team game and late imperial age. That's true.
Late Castle or Early Imperial, this civ is already dead against a decent opponent.
Even in late imperial, if you make scorpions and onagers against them, they are still dead.
They need hussars or knights or something mobile to snipe siege.
Even in a normal 1v1 Castle Age, Elephant Archers just melt Mangonels and Scorpions, while Urumis melts Pikes and Rams.
Dravidians can also get Pike and Longsword upgrades half price, + Squires, Arson and Supplies.
Hussars would do nothing except in a "noob team game and late Imperial Age". Not having Knights is teh price Indian civs pay for having Elephnat Archers, which are their truest Knight counterpart.
Not to mention that Dravidians have BE and Light Cavalry that ignore Armour, if you need Cavalry that much.
If anything, Dravidians are the civ that will get hit with nerfs the hardest, out of the 3 new ones.
And it is not like Mass Siege is something that you find in 1v1 Ranked anyway. It is something you only see in "noob team game and late Imperial Age".
Just wait untill SOTL analyses this civ win rate. They will surely need late game buff.
Dravidians and Bengalis looking like they'll be bottom tier according to early data
well those stats are for >1200 elo which is kinda problematic since you need to be at least 1800 to do a somewhat clean maa into archers which is the main strength of this civ
