What setting does the AI leave their island to attack ?
We like to play multiplayer against AI. We like the Island map but don't know what difficulty setting to use so they attack us on our islands. Also do they expand to other islands to gather?

i'm afraid island is not a suitable play for the AI. I have pay attention to Extreme AI played on islands map, and they went stallmate and only transport 20-40 units to enemy islands that easily slaughtered by enemy castles, warships, and armies. It's a stalemate in the end. with no one looks like winning

how many people do you see sending an entire army on their ships? Just to be slaughtered by demos and fire ships

Thank you for the information. Is the Extreme setting the only setting that the AI transports units to enemy islands?

Does the AI ever gather resources (wood, stone or gold) from other islands?

Thanks again. I like this game but only have a limited amount of time to play. So any help is appreciated.

What about trying to play against human AI ? They might even figure out how to build transport ships. :steammocking:

Thank you Pev for the info on the Extreme setting.

Was hoping that a lower setting would work. I guess that only a few play the Island map against a Computer Player ( AI ). :steamsad:

I have found that the AI will send transport ships on moderate, but they are really dumb about it. They don't change course if they come under attack from coastal defences and they don't even send escorts with their transports so in practice they always get picked off long before they land. If I'm honest I don't think the AI is smart enough to do naval games, regardless of the difficulty setting.

Yesterday, i tried to proof my argument on what i found by understanding the AI's behavior on islands map. In the extreme difficulty, mid games looking interesting by naval battle and several tries on enemy transport ship to disembark to enemies territory. But in the long run when out of resources (no wood, gold, and stone), so many villager's idle and it looks like AI can't figure out what's next. It seems the developer didn't put so much attention on islands map whether trying to expand the territory on foreign land to gather, i found interesting facts that villagers does disembark on transport ships in enemy territory but did nothing. one AI can be eliminated by another AI, but the problem is they cannot fight back since the resources on "his" territory already depleted. Hereby, that's what i called it's looks like a stalemate on the long run.

In conclusion, it would be more interesting if Island map play against players rather than AI.

I was able to put in some game time on moderate and confirmed that:

Thanks Redwood for the rhyme ever think of writing cards for people. Maybe you have a new calling.

I agree that it seems the developer didn't put so much attention on islands map so they did not make AI smart enough to do naval games. You would think with so many years of game development they could make a well rounded one. I hope to put in more game time.
