Age2 HD can play with the current machine.
Definitive edition is just a commercial operation with an old game.
If I want to play in 4k, I play a game rescent : Age of empire 4 ?!
if not :

no thank
-The 2013 was a simple conversion to have to run on modern systems.
-The 2019 version is more of a redefining of the game and will include all previous content plus a new expansion among other improvements like a rewritten multiplayer backend, etc.
AOE 4 coming !
Yes, i think so
The better is the original AOE2
AOE2 DE a lot of buzz for not much more !
Game was made in a new engine and not just some reskins like people keep yapping about. I had no problems running on a gtx750ti i5 (2nd gen) 8gb ram at 1920x1080.
The aoe2DE will come with all current civs + 4 new ones, so you don't have to buy/unlock other DLCs like Rajas and stuff and it comes at a very small price for a classic ($15 if you already own HD). Try to compare that with other remasters that offer nothing new (just reskins), like wc3 and starcraft? People complaining about $15 probably dont even have the hardware to run it 11.
It brings so much quality of life, like it shows the number of vills on each resource without having to click that buttton next to the minimap, it shows your ctrl groups with different icons, like a group of archers will show as a bow and arrow and stuff. Literally no excuse to not try it.
I do think, however, that aoe2HD will prevail because it requires less hardware and can still be played without a dedicated GPU, but it's just a loooooot better to play the aoe2DE.
I'm happy to read this.
I spit on microsoft for that and will stick with the original version, because microsoft never consulted the communityn while they maintained the game for so long and release new expension. Then microsoft arrived, "hey we can make big money with the work these people have done... should we sell the same game again and again? After all people are doom and have no memory, they will buy the game again and again so we can make profit forever on these junk".
Unfortunatly for them, the best version remain the one from voobly.
-They worked directly with the community from what I can tell. Modders from the community. Pro players from the community. Etc. Do you know something I may not. E aware of?
- AoE 2 realesed in 1999 (before video game content rating system established).
- AoE 2019 developers are Relic Entertainment.
- Relic Entertainment made Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is inspired by ♥♥♥♥♥♥ colorfull Warcraft.
So we have:
- AoE 2013 just a fan mod to 1999 and looks perfect.
- AoE 2019 has no blood and looks like a colorfull ♥♥♥♥ for kids.
