Why do I start with 2 Town Centres

Hi Anyone,

so I bought the Definitive Edition of AoE 2 and I keep starting with 2 Town Centres. I played AoE 2 HD where I did not started with 2 Town Centres. Google wasn't helpful figuring out what the problem is. Would be greatful if anyone could help me.

I am not good AoE player and only play single player but the reason to make more structures producing workers or soldiers or doing multiple technologies research at the same time is more faster.

But game’s have different strategies that should be implemented to cope up with the prevailing situations.

I know why I should build more town centers in late game. But I dont know why I keep starting with 2.

what map are u playing? budapest?

Playing random Maps. With one KI in a Standard Game.

Some random map scripts start the player with 2 (or even more) Town Centers. The most likely map is the "Budapest" map, although custom maps may also spawn with multiple TCs.
Try changing the map to a more standard one such as "Arabia" and check if you get 1 TC then.
