As a LATAM player, the original Spanish translation for the Age of Kings and Conqueror's Expansion campaigns had the best voice acting of any RTS game I have ever played. And it was so as it was made by well known voice actors, who put a lot of passion on every story background. Classical Spanish also made sense, considering the game is set on the Middle Ages, the original voice actors clearly did a great job in setting ambience and tone for each campaign scenario. And it shows: It doesn't really make sense in the "El Cid Campaign" to have Jimena de Asturias with perfect Spain Spanish accent in the original edition, and then to have the same character without the accent in DE, given that she is, well, Spanish.
The were so good that when I started playing Definitive Edition to replay the campaigns, I had to set the opening and endings of each campaign scenario on mute (to look at the new drawings) while playing the original voice acting on YouTube. It's not really "nostalgia", as when you read the comments in YouTube videos of the DE campaigns, they make it clear that the original voice acting was amazing and considered not just somewhat but overwhelmingly better than the DE versions.
