20 yrs AI still can see through fog
AI is sending a force to any building i have across an entire map. They obviously are cheating what a ♥♥♥♥ing joke.

How many vils did you have? What age was AI in? They could have just researched spies.

-Can you explain more or have a recorded game you can share? What is your definition of cheating?
I've noticed this too. The computer knows exactly where you are regardless of the reveal map settings. That's why against the computer I always play explored or all visible, because they can CLEARLY see the map/relics/you.
Whille that was the case with the original AI the DE AI (and probably the HD one) can't see everything and has to manage resources
A few weeks ago I played against every level of AI until I beat them. I never got the impression that the AI was cheating at any level. If you watch two AI fight, It seems that they can't see each other.
You should have a replay of the game where you suspect that the AI was cheating, I'll bet if you watch it, you will see that it wasn't.
Are people sure this is cheating?

The ai sends random units scouting over the map all the time. And they scout random corners of the map more often than they scout your base.

Also the devs said the auto scout is what the ai does, and its very obvious that it cannot tell where you are. Its pretty obvious with the ai too tbh.

Side note, I don't think the ai does this but as the player you can actually tell when players have buildings in fog of war (try building pallisade in a spot, if you can't build it something else is there). I think this is literally a case where the player can "cheat" but the ai can't.

Did you watch the replay and see if they scouted your building before sending troops?

Seriously I'm sick of these threads. Provide some proof already. If you haven't watched the replay, and seen for a fact that the ai sent a significant force to attack your building without vision of it, then please never post again because I will definitely get banned for the words I have to say about you. Seriously, you're the type of person who writes "what a joke" with no proof at all, you're not smart enough to prove the ai is cheating.

It definitely does not. Just watch the ai scout 1 game. Their scouting is complete random nonsense garbage. They don't even come close to going straight to your base.

Which as a player you can actually kind of infer where your opponent spawned. I think on Arabia, its 1 of 2 places that your opponent could have spawned. So you have a 50% chance of going straight to your opponents base if you know what you're doing. To be fair, don't think the ai is doing this.

Before you make this claim, have you watched replays of multiple games and seen the ai goes striaght to your base every time. I haven't done anything scientific, so maybe my memory is wrong, but as far as I can remember they have a 0% success rate across several games of going directly to my base when scouting.

Either my memory is horribly horribly off, and the devs lied about the ai not cheating, and about the auto scout being based on the ai (super obvious that does not know where your opponent is), or... maybe, just maybe, the vague notion you got of the ai going towards your base sometimes doesn't automatically meant they're cheating. Just saying.
The ai just attack every building he see randomly . Use good effective trup composition but with no strategy and no advance base .
I tested this on a river map with the AI unable to cross the river to see the other side. I placed 2 buildings on opposite ends of the map and you can watch the AI instantly dispatch units to attack one side then the second the building with highest value is destoryed they moved on to the next building... All the way across the map. They had no scouting done after the building was built.
Are you playing against the CD AI? I've not seen the HD or DE AI do anything that seems to be cheating.
-Yeah, please show us a screenshot of your lobby settings and even the recorded game file.

unless you're going to accuse the developers of flat out lying i'm going to repeat that the AI can not see everything on the map and has to scout

First of all, I don't believe you. Every game I play the ai just locks onto the first unit it sees and chases it with everything.

But second, after they're done killing the first unit they see, they focus fire villagers and trebs.

So something as simple as seeing a villager, running past your army to kill it, then seeing a treb could explain this behaviour.

I also have seen the ai run past my stuff for raids before. It's only done it once. But if that was a bunch of light cav, they were doing the same thing a human would do. Ignore your army that would obviously kill them, run past, and pick off high value targets along the way.

You only think this is cheating because most ai is usually dumb enough to just throw their army away blindly. If this were a human player you wouldn't question it at all (unless it was your first online game or something).

Hell it cotwven have been a bug. There was a period where it ran to the left corner of the map. If you played then, and placed a treb in the left corner, it would have walked past your army, hit the corner, then killed the treb.

In short, it sounds like you got one of the rare instances where the ai tries to raid instead of direct fighting, and they picked off a high value target along the way. No cheats are required to do that.

@Cacomistle

Build outposts on both sides of AI base on open map.

AI is very aggressive in taking out outposts it could not have had prior vision on.
