Dos Pilas Objectives
I'm attempting to do the Dos Pilas battle scenario and am a little stuck as the game doesn't seem to be telling me exactly what objective I'm supposed to achieve.

I completed the part where you're supposed to advance to the castle age which triggers to purple player to attack your city. But now it looks like the attack is going on continuously as they are clearly just endlessly spawning units a little outside my settlement. The only objectives I can see are that my Town Centre must survive and an optional mission to take out 5 bandit camps.

Does anyone know what I'm actually supposed to do from here? I've managed to more or less stay on top of their attacks but there is no indication of whether I'm supposed to outlast them or do something else. Or are the triggers for this battle not functioning properly?

There's supposed to be a trigger; usually you lose control over the village and then have to decide whether to ally with the attacker or his adversary. You probably have to restart the mission or try to load a save file.

I see, since I didn't know what was coming I decided to spend a lot of time building up and fortifying my Town before advancing. I guess I'll need to try it again from the beginning.

If you are in a good position you can also win by defeating all players on the map (e.g. by changing diplomatic status). I believe that works on all missions.

Sadly no you can't win by defeating all the players on the map. I'm repeatedly running into the same glitch where the trigger doesn't fire and I'm just continuously attacked. I've restarted several times and it keeps happening. I figured I'd just get through it the hard way and defeat them all.

I placed buildings on the spawn areas where the waves were coming from and then wiped out each and every player on the map, every building and unit. Each one was defeated except yellow (Dos Pilas), who isn't on the map. As a result the mission is impossible to win with the glitch.

Maybe I'm just getting unlucky but every time I restart I run into the same glitch.

Arti wait till this bug is fixed. You can check the official forums if it has been reported there. Every bug that is reported there is acknowledged and is worked on usually.
I know that there are trigger bugs in campaigns now because parts of the military statistics don't work ingame. I.e. triggers that include "X units killed". That is also why the K/D ratio is missing from the end-game screen.

==> Don't replay the mission, wait for the February update which hopefully fixes all these issues.

Capybara, Vladislak and Jerroser soo as was adviced i loaded my save destroying fortifications and lure the units that infinitely spawn and let them attack my town center and after they barely damaged it i got trigger work soo Jerroser no need to play all over again if u have any save from this mission (check your replays says there is tons of it if u not delete them and remember when u play this) then since calakmul which is purple player has been defeated and there is only couple of walls still standing i CANNOT select their wonder to side with them soo i clicked the Tikal which is orange and i have to defeat calakmul but since they were defeated i INSTANTLY win the map but yea before advancing i was kinda fortifying. Also yea i figured that in historical campaigns the counter of killed and loosed units is completely not working only see everywhere 0 0... anyway i loaded, finished and can proceed to the next one, btw im not playing it in the year order just to finish them, year order i was doing in HD version

I'll give it a shot when I get the chance, that sounds like a very plausible reason for why the trigger might not working.
Arti Feb 14, 2020 @ 5:09pm
At one side it should work after u advance the castle age because normally u have to defend coz u cannot lost that town center on the other side its completely stupid to let this town center be damaged for trigger to work
Jerroser Feb 15, 2020 @ 9:35am
Right I've just tested it and it does work, the trigger fires once attackers managed to damage your town centre. I agree though that its not the best of designs as there is enough room for the player to build up their defences well enough to actually fend off the attacks from purple and the objective implies that you will be defeated if they manage to destroy it.

I have kept them at bay for an hour and they don't trigger anything else
