Multi thread support
Does this game works on more core's?
Or is single thread like the HD version?
I mean if you have an 8 core cpu, it still lags when too many players and high pop?

still single core

Which seems ridiculous to me for the second remaster.

whoooot? That was the only reason i would buy the game. And is single core? You trolling me i am sure.

Whether its single core or not doesn't isn't really all that relevant. Because if you play an 8 player game, someone probably has a potato or a trash connection, and either one of those will slow the game down before your own computer does (unless you're the potato).

You know...people doesn't play all multiplayer...i often play for fun solo vs 8 players

The game doesn't suffer from lack of multi-threading, stop bringing up this matter of computing that you don't know anything about.

The game is actually running multiple threads (dozens of them) - for UI, for networking and for who knows what just as any modern piece of software does.

However, if you're talking about paralellizing the critical part - that is game simulation then you'll realize that:
1) The simulation is not bottlenecked at processing power at all. The issues are often encountered in memory (RAM) which as you may know can only be accessed by one thread at a time.
2) Making a concurrent simulation is not necessarily possible.
3) There is no indication that it's the game simulation that causes performance issues. It's more likely to be inefficient graphics rendering and the ample amount of drivers that may or may not agree with whatever libraries the game is using.

Let the devs be devs and if you're going to determine that the game suffers from some performance issue that can be solved one way or another then at least back it up with proof. Did you disassemble the game? Reverse engineered it? Did you profile it? I don't think so.

You need to have 1000 benchmark points at least to play ranked online...

By the way, speaking of memory, something I notice is that when I launch AoE2DE, my memory usage goes up!!! Way up!!! Around 14 gbs of ram used... Which is kinda strange that the game is using so much ram...

My take is that he game is preloading so much to the ram so it doenst need to load from the disk while you are in the game.... Please do note that the game doesnt lag at all!

What's your gfx settings?

All checkboxes are check with the enhanced textures and the sliders in teh middle.

I suggest you reduce the gfx to a minimum... it actually looks the best that way.

For example, I have 32 gigs of memory, i7 and 1070 and I get +200 FPS even on high settings. However, I don't think the memory footprint is justified and I don't think the increased detail adds anything - it actually takes away from the game experience in my opinion.

So far game works really good in single player (even with huge armies) without graphics pack except the only problem that annoys me is there is a stutter when you scroll.

And in multiplayer :(. It is as bad as any other age of empires game. HOW HARD COULD IT BE to manage creating a decent multiplayer experiance in 2019. You are microsoft ffs.

Btw enhanced graphics is what's eating ram. There are a lot of people having crashes with enhanced graphs it is because they don't have the ram(including me).

Enhanced graphics and UHD graphics are totally not worth the trouble. The game looks good on the absolute minimal settings (with perhaps tweaks to the sharpening slider).

I use a Ryzen 2700. It seems I have to use process lasso and make it use one core, so no ccx-hopping's happen.
