"The Lion and the Demon" scenario achievements
Hello!

So... the last scenario in the Saladin campaign, "The Lion and the Demon" has an achievement linked to it, which is basically "defeat all the oponents before you build the Wonder".

I want to know... how in the hell do I get this achievement? It was hard enough to make the Wonder survive, I tried going offensive and I could barely defeat Jerusalem, then got crashed by the other 3 land enemies.

It seems that the enemy has infinite resources because they make the most expensive units and they are super strong, while on the other hand, I start with miserable 1k of each except food. I played it in Standard difficulty and it was still hell.

I don't consider myself a casual, but I'm also not a pro. I just think this needs a bit of a nerf.

Did you get this achievement? If so, how did you do it?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Doing this on hard was simpler than I thought. But first of all Ive heard the achievement is bugged, you need to turn persia into enemies before defeating the last one and get them too so you get the achievement (from what ive heard, ive yet to try it). What you wanna do is send your starting galeons into the east river that connects to jerusalems base, just make them stand ground in a safe place of the river out of reach of castle and TC and they will kill all villagers until they surrender, making it a 1v4 (one is water). Making a 2nd TC by the gold and stone will help you increase your economy enough to keep mamluks production and they will pretty much destroy enemies (can be annoying on hard mode), so i recommend doing the achievement on standard.

Play on standard, get your economy up and running in the beginning, and get whatever upgrades to need to make your Mamlukes better. You have time to do this. Put your hero Archers into the special tower in the top right of your base for defense (they're not good in the open field because the AI will prioritize them with their cavalry). For units you'll mostly want the Mamlukes and some siege weapons, trebuchets and/or rams. The Mamlukes if microed well enough can deal with everything, but you want the siege weapons for the towers and castles. It can feel like a slog at first but the moment you defeat the first faction will create a ton of breathing room.

Jerusalem in the east is the most threatening opponent because they'll send lots of trebs and other siege weaponry your way, so deal with them first. England to the north of them also likes to send trebs, rams, and longbowmen, so go for them next. Deal with the enemies in a reverse clockwise order. Keep a handful of Mamlukes at home to deal with the Franks who will send Bombard Cannons to besiege your base. The Genoese and Teutons were the least threatening in my experience, as the Italian ships and Teutonic Knights were dealt with by my towers.

As stated above, you will want to make Persia your enemy before you defeat all the other teams. Do this before you attack the last one as Persia's port makes for a good, infinite source of gold if you need it. The achievement triggered for me after defeating the Genoese without having to destroy the Persian Outpost.

Change diplomacy to enemy with Persian outpost before you defeat all the crusaders enemies.
That will make you get the achievement.
And try to boom econ with 2 or 3 tc and start attack with your beginning army to defeat 2 enemies.
Better to defeat The Lion Heart Richard first or second, he is the hardest opponent among all you face

The destroying the Persian outpost method did NOT work for me. However, I discovered a new method that did.

Here's what you do: Place down the foundations of a wonder and partially build it (Do not finish it), then destroy your enemies. That method unlocked the achievement for me. :treb::wololo:

Wow I had no clue Jerusalem can resign after that, I should give it a try then.

I did play it on Standard XD thanks for sharing your strategy too! I'm going to try these 2 options when I can.

Try archer-rush. Remember that Saracen civ. bonus got changed and they got obsidian arrows-sort of. I went most of Saladin campaign w/ Archers. Regarding 6th one, I rushed Jerusalem very early 'cause they were pretty far behind, then red 'cause those trebs has 100 accuracy and 20 range. Just try to left some units in base to cover against Blue's bombards. Water-issue is already out w/ towers so I didn't mind it much. When they run out of gold they started to send vils 1 by 1 to Jerusalem's gold and east-side map gold as well which was a bloodbath, pretty dumb. For achievement, has been already stated but yes, mark Persian as Enemy, don't touch them and finish off the last Crusader. In my case was Cyan. It seems is a slow-reaction achievement and defeating all of them is insta-win pop up. Persian as enemy (but alive!) should avoid this.
