No u, Bro we get ways to pay it on Windows 7 with Reverse Compatibility Patches, but you can't expect to play online. Surely, the community has solutions tho.

It should be able to run on linux though WINE. You should really get off win 7 like now. Windows 8 is already been killed ie no drivers for gpus or cpus so the OS wont be of any use unless your just browsing the web. If you really do not want win 10 I suggest learning linux now.

While I agree with markdb92 in that it will run on Linux in the long run. At the moment several reports on protondb seem to support that it won't run on Linux at the moment.

So either way you'll need to be patient. The original game has received nice mods and patches and is still played by many people on voobly and even though it contains many objectively annoying bugs the HD version is still played on steam. So maybe enjoy these versions while you wait for an OS/computer upgrade.

I should add that linux is the WORST OS for gaming. It's great in all other things though
