For me the only cheat like thing it does is have automatic knowledge of a players army counts(this can spectacularly backfire for the ai tho especially when pitted against civs like goth/hun/cuman that can summon up a horde out of thin air and thus catch the ai completely off guard)
But as far as resources go, no they never cheat for more resources
it need just to see one building and it knows everything
thats why when u make skrimishers in the back it will produce counter units even it dont know u prepare this step
This is for me the most annoing part of the new AI
The AI can also cheat resources but this i think they only do if cheats are enabled.
Oh, well, thanks for knowing that. If I confirm that I might as well edit the wiki myself XD Seems that the updated ai from 2013 still cheats at "hardest", so I was a little confused now that I got the DE.
Yeah there's a lot of different AIs for the game over the past 20 years so depending on where you read you get a different story 11
2013 and DE AIs: Never gain extra resources in standard match(Devs have said so). They get extra resources in campaigns but that a completely different thing.
The game's AI programmer said somewhere that DE AI does cheat a bit with information to compensate its poor scouting and its inability to properly analyze the other player. For instance it always knows how many military units you have but it doesn't know what kind of units they are if it haven't seen them. The focus of the cheating is to give AI some general information about the game which would be difficult for it to obtain but not specific information like where your units are.
It's incredibly rude of me to say this, but you're probably just bad. I'd recommend looking up guides. The hard AI really isn't that difficult in reality. If you just wanna play for fun and think that it's the rushing that kills you, I'd recommend playing Arena and Hideout.
