Optimizing AoE2 DE for running on laptops?

Context: My laptop (which I use to play games on) has Intel Core i7 vPro and has less than 2 GB of dedicated VRAM. Thus, my laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements to play AoE2 DE. Any tips on how to optimize the game to make it more stable and run faster on a laptop such as mine?

Never download the DLC texture pack :) and you should be A for Acing it

I haven't downloaded the DLC Enhanced Graphics, so I don't think that's causing the issue.

Disable Vsync, run only on full screen and restart your pc (seriously, it shouldn't do anything but it has helped a lot of people with lower-end pcs which doesn't make sense.)

I also have a laptop with i7, 8GB RAM and integrated Intel HD 620 graphics. I don't think it is going to run AoE2 DE well ?

You might want to turn off bloom and all the added effects, they tend to hog RAM up pretty quickly.
