Singleplayer AivAI observer mode?

AoE2:HD had the ability to obs AI v AI in singleplayer standard games, am I missing something in the lobby or has this function not been added to DE?
I can start a game with nothing but AI players, but I will only be able to observe the player in slot 1.

If anyone has any ideas on how to launch AI v AI in standard singleplayer I'd appreciate it.
I will of course test it in an MP lobby once the servers are up.

you can use cheat to get vision to whole map

Don't even need to do that for vision, you can just set it in the settings.
This however means you can't use the spectator features which I'm missing.

yea, HD had spectator slot for that. HD spectator mode is still inferior to what this version has as thissupports 4vs4 for multiplayer.

MP servers are up but struggling to even find the option to be an observer ¬¬
And "observers allowed" can not be switched on in a LAN lobby for some reason.
Am I to assume "observer allowed" only means the game will show up in the "spectate" tab in the MP lobby browser?

But yeah...currently I can't find a way to be obs in an MP lobby either, which i'd assume should exist for tournaments?

yea,list is only choice for MP. they must make option to search players or it's impossible to find game to cast.

It's so strange, AoE2HD had such a good observer function in the lobby which even worked amazingly in singleplayer, and to not have a button anywhere I can find in either civ selection or anywhere in the lobby to observe is just puzzling to me.

If someone finds a way to be an ingame observer opposed to observing games from the spectator tab or only being able to observe 1 AI in single player I'd very much appreciate it.

So with the new handicap feature being added, could we please have the Skirmish observer mode finally added back in?

You can observe Ai without playing by setting player 1 as Ai. Use the dropdown button with your name on it (top one) and set it to Ai.

The feature was always there in DE.

This is not a full observer mode though, and keeps spamming text on the left side(looks similar to CheeseOnToast's stuff from his AI in DE, hoping he's still working on things as I loved his AI back then).
In DE you could go full observer, swap between the different AI players and have access to things you don't when you just have an AI play for you.

For things like Kings of Arabia 2 which was an all-AI tournament held last August.
