Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition
How do we uninstall the beta?
The beta licenses were just revoked. That's fine, but the game files are still on our computers, and there's no longer a Steam library entry for the game to use to uninstall it, and I also see no entry in Windows -> Programs and Features from which the game can be uninstalled. I also see no uninstaller in the game folder.

So, how do we properly uninstall the game?

if you still have files on your PC and can't find it in the windows programs list launch steam with console (check this guide for how to do this https://howtech.tv/pc/how-to-open-steam-console/ ) and type in
"app_uninstall -complete 813780" (without the "" marks)
into the console, this seemed to remove all but a single json file from the pheonix folder at least for me, so gonna assume that anything that would be placed anywhere else should be removed that way too at least, and probably safe to jsut manually remove that last jsonfile+the folder then as well

The Phoenix folder in steamapps\common\ is the AoE 2 DE beta folder. There isn't an Age 2 DE folder, AFAIK.

Age2HD is the folder for AoE 2 HD that released in 2013.

There is an AoE2DE folder in my steamapps. But thanks for your input. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game so I have a different folder than the old phoenix one.

Interesting. OK.
use a prog called "space sniffer" its free and you can remove all its files

No uninstaller in sight ... seriously ??

no steam game have uninstaller as steam handles uninstallion normally
The game launcher disappeared from my library and now it says in the shop that i've to buy it again.
Before the removal of beta I managed to reinstall it. I hope I didn’t made a mistake and the files would be useful for faster download...

beta was revoked so game is removed from library. If you have bought game and don't seem to own it anymore I would check steam purchase history and receipt. also contact steam support if game is supposed to be library. aoeinsidersupport@microsoft.com may be able to help too

I preordered the game with a bundle, but now the game is missing

Please check your purchase history in Steam. If you did the preorder through one of the Bundles while you were in the beta, Steam may not have charged you for AOE2:DE during checkout. If this is the case, you’ll want to checkout with the Bundle again to preserve your discount.

*From Steam, click your account icon in the top-right and select Account Details from the drop-down.

*Under Store & Purchase History, click View Purchase History to see all of your past purchases on that account.

That worked for me, too. I wonder if it does a full clean uninstall.

Anyway, thanks for that tip!

I would suspect this to be what is essentially called behind the scene when you go into properties -> uninstall game on any normal game still in your library, though ofc I can't be 100% sure

I literally have no phoenix folder in steamapps I can't find the file in programs and features, I have no uninstaller in age 2 de folder in steamapps.

Garbage microsoft, I have no intention of buying their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reskin I just want it off my computer.

Age2HD is the folder for AoE 2 HD that released in 2013.

x\steamapps\common\AoE2DE\ and it is 43.9 GB, even the executable (AoE2DE_s.exe) is there.

But I think I will leave it there, the game will release in 2 days, maybe I don't have to download it again, and only patch it :lunar2019coolpig:
