[SPOILERS] Bat + [tool] = egg?

In the room with the Giant Bat that is scared away with 3 firecrackers, if I use the UV light, I can see an egg symbol (lower left). This lead me to believe that maybe if I "kill" the bat instead of scaring it off, that I'd get an egg. But I can't figure out how to do that ... trying to knock stalactites onto his head did not work.
Is there an egg in this room? How do I get it?

Same here, I'm in the super late game with almost everything solved and yet this one eludes me for some reason.

I wish I could remember. I have all the eggs and I have NO idea how I got that one, or if at all. It was one of the earlier ones I got, though, because I got to 58 and only looked up a guide for the last 6 and that one wasn't one I was missing. It might be telling you that there's a path TO an egg through the room, rather than there being an egg IN the room? I know there's an egg hidden in the room to the left, but not even the 100% egg guide shows an egg inside the bat room.

Yeah, the egg symbols don't necessary mean there's an egg in that room, just one nearby, possibly in an adjacent room. If you got the one in the room to the left, that should be it.

As someone who recently got all eggs, there are eggs around the bat but you dont actually have to interact with him to get it. (honestly ive always felt like there should be more to that part. The only other persistent mini boss is the kangaroo but that one has a reward tied to it. Not sure what the bats deal is...)
