Egg room secret puzzle?

In the egg room, using the UV Light reveals that each of the eggs has lines on them: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3245333977

The key to decoding these can be found in the other room with the same item: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3245334227

The presence of lines on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th suggests that the lines should be read as binary with the top being the least significant bit.

Decoding the whole message like this gives:

I had thought that using the flute and playing those numbers according to their positions given in the room on the left would do something, but nothing seemed to happen? Does anyone have ideas what this is for?

And you should play melody in front of the eggs, not in the left room

What does playing the song in front of the eggs do? I played it but it didn't seem like anything happened? It played a little melody but that was it.

If the song is played correctly, a tunnel in the top right corner gets opened. There you get the office key

I suggest you write a guide with this info. It will be lost years later when people want to figure this out. Guides are easy to write in steam, just be aware there is a word limit on them.

As great as the game is, this puzzle was terrible.
I love decrypting weird stuff like this, but who in the world would replace the 0 with an 8?
This is BINARY and you start counting at 0.
If Binary goes from 0-7, that translates to 1-8 for us.
OBVIOUSLY 0 becomes 1, 1 becomes 2, two becomes 3 and so on.
WHO would just leave all the numbers the same and make the 0 into the 8???

This and the egg where you need to use the flute in a completely random room without any clue that i know of, are terrible puzzles in an otherwise almost perfect little game.

You are not the only one. I literally didn't notice until I played the song again in my 2nd run, and even then not until I passed through the room a few times. Derp!

I don't think it's binary at all? The clue to the Cipher is just a few rooms over to the left.
Top line = 1
Middle Line = 2
Bottom line = 4

You add them together if there's multiple lines. Adding them all together gives you 7, so by process of elimination, no lines has to be 8.
