Is the infinite jump with bubble mechanic intended?
I've been playing for an hour or so and found the tool that creates bubbles to jump onto. After experimenting with it for a bit I found out that by swiftly pressing jump + create bubble while already on a bubble you can manage to jump onto the next one, effectively making you jump in mid-air indefinitely as long as you're not near a wall (the bubble pops when it hits a wall).
I used this technique to get past the swans and collect an egg.
Is this intended / required or is this "cheese"?

I'd say semi intended. there are other ways to manage about the same with diff items.

The game accounts for your ability to do this, yes.

Yes, the rabbit achievement requires it

I'd say intended. The game does not communicate that you can do this but there is a spiked section where the only way to move upwards as far as I know is by making use of this technique. Without using it I would probably have given up on this game, I am truly terrible at precision platforming (cranes/swans were impossible for me until I did this...)

I don't think it was intended since you can get an upgraded version of the wand which let's you create multiple bubles at the same time, and I don't understand the utility of this item if they knew about the infinite jump

How would you even get out of the room where you got the b wand, if not for this trick?

The upgraded wand has two uses: one is that it's easier to use since you don't have to care about timing as much, and also you can ascend columns that are less than three tiles in width, since you can just fill them with bubbles and jump up through the bubbles, but you don't have enough room to maneuver with the regular wand.

Dev has confirmed intended in the game's discord.

It's so easy to do that they must have known about it and decided to leave it in since it doesn't break anything, you can only get to some places earlier.

it must be a bug. has someone let the dev know about it?

Definetly intended considering there are birds specifics to handle this

Considering how easy it is to discover this tech you would have to be pretty obtuse to think it wasn't either a) intentional from the start or b) discovered early during play-testing and left in

You can tell when something isn't intended to work because there are creeping vines in the way. That's the dev's way of saying "git gud and do this the proper way." If there are no vines, anything goes.
