Is this one of those meme games on Steam where it gets overwhelmingly positive ratings just cause peeps think it's funny and they feel like a comedian or is it genuinely good?

I refunded it after about 30 minutes. its pretty but the novelty wears off fast and your just left with a 25 dollar platformer.

I highly recommend you check out Rainworld if you want a pretty platformer with actual gameplay. Or wait for this to go on sale. most I'd pay is 10 dollars for what the game actually is.

It is genuinely good. Reminds me of the platformer puzzle games of my childhood, like Knytt Stories. If you like slow going and relaxing puzzle games with tons of secrets and satisfying powerups then yes.

Ironically, everyone saying "just meme lol youtuber looool" are probably actually children from Dunkey's youtube channel here to throw shade on the game because it isn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ call of duty of some ♥♥♥♥.

Yes, it's good, yes it's worth the money. Yes, if you like puzzle platformers you should buy this game.

My honest approach is to just wishlist and wait on a sale. From the game not launching for some people, the bugs, and the general fact that it's quite a small platformer (in terms of content).

Just doesn't justify it costing $25

It's genuinely good. It kinda reminds me of Fez. Really cool atmosphere to it as well.

It is genuinely excellent. There is actual gameplay, more intense and satisfying than most platformers I played. There is a massive puzzle aspekt to it, in addition to some moderate dexterity requirements.
This is most certainly no memeish pseudo game.
And it has serious "no way..." moments. I love it.

And yes, it's quite expensive for an indie platformer.
But the unbelievable design quality that went into it makes it worth every penny.

25 is crazy, why would anyone buy this over hollow knight thats only 15.

In all seriousness, I didn't want to get personal.
You say Hollow Knight" is better value for money, but that is subjective.
I liked Hollow Knight but it didn't fascinate me.
Animal Well (to me) is mesmerizing.

And concerning the price of the game: I happily overpay something truly creative, hoping this Designer makes more games.
Your milage may vary on this, obviously. So wait for a sale :-)
