Understood, thank you for the update !
I've seen that zarnivop and animal_PLANET suggested checking the temperatures during gameplay, which is a good idea in order to check for overheating-related crashes.
It can also be a good idea to check if your PC's air intakes are clear of dust or debris, which could limit airflow and contribute to overheating.

i opened task manager and went to details tab, then found ACOdyssey.exe while game was running, right clicked on it, clicked set affinity and then select <all processors> and then clicked ok! that's it. truns out that was the problem, for some reasons the game was using only P-cores and all 4 E-cores were idle... hope that fixes your problem too.
Thank you for the update and I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

i also having the freezing issue when playing the game. My spec is I12500H + RTX3060 + 16GB ram (new laptop). I dont have any issue when playing AC origins, however, the freezing issue only happened on AC Odyssey. I have searched through the internet it seem like no solution to solve this freezing issue. I agree with what Zantagor and Thanatos said, this is the game or bug issue, but not related to spec. The only thing i can do is to request refund for this game.
I've resolved myself to play with uncapped FPS since it works for me, it just means the fans blow much stronger than usual because of it,
Hi, I tried to off the Vsync setting on my pc and tried to rerun the game. The freezing issue still exists. May I know what other setting that you changed ? for instance: the game run in full screen or borderless ? or any other changed in Nvidia setting ?
in Odyssey:
Display:
Full Screen 1080p
Res Modifier 100%
Refresh Rate 60Hz
Vsync Off
FoV 100%
FPS Limit none
Graphics:
Very High for everything except what has "High" as max
This is on a RTX3060 Ti, on a I5 12th Gen 12600K
