Night Vision Goggles

Library says this item drops off of Elite Swordsman, but i've been farming them for 2-3 hours in Prison... 0 drop (and Yuma have God Hand + Steal attack).

Anyone have any luck with this or needs a specific weather|location?

It only shows up once you get certain required items. Either the electric suckerthingies or the other part.

Might have a quest requirement on top of that as well.

i'm certain they drop those because i've been collecting alot of monster data from fromage's egg.

it looks as if there are some drops which aren't accesible until either (1) you reach certain point or (2) you stack many steal/drop gears.

Rainbow Jiggly has an absurdly low drop rate (killed over 100 slimes that can drop it, didnt see one). However in chapter 4 you get access to a buyable Sigil from Lisette that has it as special reward. Its a bit RNG since that sigil can only be upgraded to C-B at best, but its your best chance of getting them.

If its any consolence Plasma isnt a great skill to have anyways.

Eagle Eye drops from griffon pretty frequently. The one in the forest isnt a rare spawn so you can farm it repeatedly by going in and out of the forest (theres an exit right next to it).

It spawns during clear skies (I think also thunder, but not sure). Doesnt spawn during rain.


I'd say the answer to your question is:

(4) Absurdly low droprate. I only know of 1 game I ever played that had negative droprates untill you added + dropchance, so its very unlikely steal/drop items are a hard requirement for them. But they will certainly make dropping them a lot easier.

yes, i managed to reached chapter 4 and have already bought all sigils.

just so you know i tried farming that mellow-old-lady quest to kill slimes 10 times IN CHAPTER 3.
and not even a single rainbow jiggly drop.
at that point i start to think like i can't get that (also eagle eye + some items) unless i get to stack drop-up gears, which i can't obtain in chapter 3, because of rappel gated quest.

Someone elsewhere suggested that it might be tied to the monsters levels. IE: they cant drop it unless they are above a certain level.

I'm inclined to agree. There's one particular drop (vitalizing fluid) that I've only seen drop from lvl 60+ monsters.

Either that or they are locked untill certain chapters.

Eagle eyes are dropped ''high'' drop for me with steal, but I was in chapter 5 when I first tried farming them, and I think Griffons were a min of 50+ at the time.

From what I've heard no amount of drop rate+ or such has any effect on getting them to drop. If its indeed a level instead of chapter requirement, then it suddenly makes sense that the rare variants of Large Monsters do drop the items sometimes, as those are usually 60+.

Many of them have rare variants, maybe even all of them. I'm not sure if they have conditions for spawning or if they are entirely random tho.

(some appear instead of the regular monster, others appear in a different location on the same map, at the same time)

One other thing worth noting is that you can also get these rare drops from Grimoires as a reward from a chest. Items you get is dependant on the monsters you fight (you can tell as some will appear during the boss battle). Getting the rare type items probably requires a rare or superrare chest.

yea im pretty much giving up on the vitalising fluid as of now cause no matter how many times i steal from bouyant octos they just never give it to me.

God Hand = just make some progessio with Rappel's recipes. Need easy itens for craft (don't have problem for craft Aspect when get recipe)

Steal Attack
2 x Egg pouches - best way is quest from the old lady on the bench in town (close to Kirika place). You can try grind eggs in Grimoire too;

3 x Eagle Eyes - griffon drops them with decent rate;

8 x Star sand - Sharion Coast/Coral Cave.
Annoying if you don't know "places". Go ahead to entrance to the caves(there should be camp nearby) and near the entrance to cave there is a possible spawn of 2 'shiny' in the water. One usually have water and closest one have Star sand/Mana crystal/Coral Reef.
Into the cave, you see those flower patches near right wall (a few steps away from entrance) with 2 spots (closest one have chance for Star Sand).
Basically: 1) run inside cave, 2) check if the shiny you need is there, 3) run back outside, 4) check outside for the shiny, 5) repeat

if drop variation is truly gated behind level, then that makes sense why i can't get rainbow jiggly and others.

i'm currently trying to farm googles from elite knight (chapter 4 prison) , and i want to see whether i can get just 1 google from killing and stealing 100 of those.

and on the other hand, there are 2 weird things that happen to me today :

- I managed to steal a 'fire essence' from salamander mob in ulde desert. I can't believe my eyes because yesterday i tried steal-n-run many times to get that and 'wyrm maw', just for a naught.

- I'm at the point where marion just joined the party. So i tried checking on rappel to see what's new, and just as i thought there are several new aspects corresponding to her force.
But guess what else i found ? a bloody Image Training aspect outta nowhere, while here i am waiting for rappel to give up new quest for recipes, assuming image training (also drop-up) will be available after that.
So it seems that the earliest time you can get image training is after marion joined.

I remember some game having items locked to difficulty level/days past...I think it was Lightning Returns. Would be nice if this game showed that tho.

In LR the items locked would be greyed out in the bestiary.

Anyway, if you unlocked Image Training I think the rest of the Egg Pouch items should be available for you as well (or soon after).

Recipe unlocks is really weird. I remember getting the +30% Magic Aspect in like chapter 2, lol.

i can confirm these :
- 'Image Training' earliest time : after marion joins
- 'Drop Up' earliest time : starting of chapter 5

if you are talking about 'overlord principle', i also crafted 2 of those in chapter 2 too, by using demon scripture from grimoire drop/reward. cmiiw.

The best way to farm Night Vision Google early is by stacking 3 Empire Discord (should give you B rank difficulty), and pray to RNGesus you loot them from field/gold chest.
i gave up killing the corresponding mobs.

I got the Image Training Aspect as soon as Agnum was available. made 4 Drop Ups and Steal Attack Aspect and I still can't get the danm goggles. I'll try what you suggest though, didn't think of that. been in that ice area getting killed by the Manticore trying to Link Attack.

Edit: Worked like a charm. finally, I can finish this quest. I've had this game since day one release and the damn goggles are finally in my possession.
