He is timid, but fit his "design".He looks like a submisive bishounen. His design says it.
He could be part of a Reverse Harem, especially if they want to make a Reverse Harem with Gender Roles Reversed. Also he acts like a Yaoi "uke".The girls at the begining are like Yuri "tachi" to him,so at the begining at least is Role Reversal.
Also, his design is pretty good,so even if is a generic harem, his design is a good submisive MC design and not a generic non-atractive crap like most shonen harem MC design.
1. Yuma was tortured, its amazing enough he isnt acting like a crazy lunatic the entire time.
2. Yuma argument is valid, great power is to be feared and not misused. Power corrupts nearly all men without Fail.
3. Yuma is meant to be a gender fluid character, so they wanted a decent personality. Not to Macho, Not to Femine. They aimed for inbetween
4. Yuma has a big heart, people who have the biggest hearts many greatest fears one of them is hurting others.
5. Agnum plays the Big Brother role, and is more understanding than some of you. Yet many of you love him. Think about that....
Many of you would not have been critical of Yuma if he was in fact a Girl. Thats a serious issue you should think about and do more self reflection on.
Am i a fan of Yuma, honestly no. But i understand he is the way he is and he has decent reasons to be the way he is. Every Male Protagonist does not have to be a strong macho male who takes charge. Thats boring, character development is better when the characters have noticable flaws.
Also characters are meant to be relatable to a certain level (not always), this is to make people like a character more based on similar traits they share. Like loving to eat, or many girl characters being scared of bugs. Fictional Characters are boring if you just make them perfect, they need flaws like real life people and they need strengths like real life people.
You have to relate to Yuma despite him being fictional. Many of you would not have mentally overcame torture with a stable mentality you probably would go suicidal. Many of you would be hesistant to raise a sword against monsters, and dont tell me you would. Ive yet to see a man or woman take up a sword and go into a jungle and fight off panthers for fun and experience.
P.S
Hatred is a strong word, try not to hate someone unless their deliberately trying to hurt others.
At the begining Yuma is fine, he is deeply damaged to the point of expecting and welcoming pain and doesnt know much about outside world because he was kept in prison for years, its a great way to make him gullible naive and pure without making him seem demented but even after the character growth they are still pushing what I am able to accept as a personality, rather than just a string of events written to make him seem like a baby.
He is fine in most of the evening events, seemingly interested in the girls and all, but outside of them, they could tackle him naked to the ground and he wouldnt know what do they mean.
