Python error: None has no attribute decode (fixed)
Logfile has a type error:

uoc2.init:177 OpenGL version: 1.1.0 uoc2-exe:24 Traceback (most recent call last): uoc2-exe:24 File "uoc2-exe.py", line 17, in <module> uoc2-exe:24 File "E:\code\uoc2\uoc2\main.py", line 223, in main uoc2-exe:24 File "E:\code\uoc2\uoc2\init.py", line 180, in init_gl uoc2-exe:24 AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'decode'

It ran yesterday.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Tried wiping out the
\AppData\Local\.uoc2
directory and re-running.

I don't mind wiping out all the save games to get it working again.

This appears to have been a video card issue.

The AMD Radeon app wouldn't start. In device manager > display adapters, the video card was shown as disabled. I re-enabled it and rebooted. The game starts now.

There were several crashes earlier in the day on different games, seems like something about the video card got disabled as a result.
