Moveable Supply Hub?
Hi folks, just started playing UoC II and really like it. BUT I'm having trouble keeping supply up with aqvancing units.
Page 6 of the manual refers to "moveable supply hubs", but the tutorials don't show you how to move them, nor does the manual.
So far, no amount of clicking on a supply hub has enabled me to move one, so as to keep advancing units in supply (e.g., the Wacht am Rhein scenario). Also, I've seen Night Phoenix's videos of the how-to-play Wacht am Rhein scenario and it clearly shows supply hubs being moved to keep up.

How does one move a supply hub forward to support advancing units?

thanks in advance,

conboy

You have to have available trucks shown along the top of the screen. When you remove a truck from a hub it won't be available until the next turn so always try to have a truck spare. Click on a supply hub and either mouse wheel down and hit enter or click the minus next to the truck at the top of the screen. You will be juggling supply in many scenarios. Units can be out of supply for 1 turn and still attack but always keep your HQ in supply. If necessary you can emergency supply with the HQ.

Thanks, Hans. I think I understand that you don't really move the supply hub, you just redeploy the trucks to follow the advancing troops. Correct?

thanks,

Individual supply hubs don't move. You have to 'leap frog' them forwards as you capture territory. I.e. build a new one further forward and then remove the now obsolete one that's further back.

Managing this leap frogging (and keeping enough supply hubs available to do so) is one of the key skills of the game.

A tip: sometimes you have to accept that units won't be supplied for a turn as you rearrange your supply hubs for your advance. You can capture enemy supply hubs or use your headquarter's emergency supply specialisation to keep key units fully supplied.
