Transfer reinforcement steps between HQ's

Hi,

I have a British HQ that has 3 steps of US infrantry available as reinforcements. However I dont have any US troops under that HQ so can use the steps.

Can I either transfer the steps to my US HQ, or can I transfer US troops to my British HQ? I want to use these steps but at the moment I cant

you can upgrade the HQ and create a security force from those steps !

Thanks! Its really strange as I'm on the second mission (Tunisia) and started with a British HQ having the 3 US infantry steps - at the moment I cant upgrade the HQ so these steps seem useless in this mission

Get used to it. Most of the campaign in at least half of the HQs I had some steps I couldn't use, because I didn't have any units of that nationality. It's one of the quirks of the game.

Also, try to use the units cleverly, and do not lose them in pointless attacks.

As then you will not have them later, and will not be able to use them

That's not really that relevant, in my experience. I lost access to the only troops of a specific nationality even though they were not killed. This seems to happen often often especially in the african/italy part of the campaign.

You can drop a US paratrooper or land a US marine near that HQ (the unit will be under control of its nearest HQ upon spawning) and reinforce that unit later on.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll take it as it comes. I assumed it was a bug or something to give me troops of a different nationality at my HQ that I couldnt use
