Steam overlay is not working most of the time.

So i found out that when the steam overlay works the game registers my controller(xbox) but most of the time the steam overlay just doesn't work and i don't get why. reinstall doesn't work and i don't know how i got it to work.

I set my game-display setting resolution, to match my Windows display resolution - for me is 1280x768 - they were not matched up. fixed

mine do match. i got both to 1920 x 1080 but still no steam overlay, im gonna try changing the resolution a bit and see if that fixes anything. still thanks for the answer.

From what i read elsewhere, the game doesn't use directx by default and that's required to get the steam overlay working. Using the HD pack to correct this, but then you will have conflicting setting for your controller between the steam default configuration you put and the ingame default controls.
