Female Armor Knight, Lady Samurai, Thief, Celestial Hostess, and the female mage class.
Monsters: Flora Beast, Sea Angels, Rabbit, Fairy, Nine Tails, Slumber Cat, and Shrooms are my favorites
Lady Samurai - My go-to melee attack class. Between stats/aptitudes and evilities, a pretty darn powerful class.
Sage - An excellent support class. Their 'multi-attacker' skill will allow you to attack twice. Just use that on your most powerful attacker and they'll be twice as devastating next time they attack.
Maid - Didn't realize the power of this class until I was further into the game. The 'Afternoon Tea' skill which allows a unit that has already moved to move again, which unless I'm mistaken, includes attacking again.
Professor - Useful boosting support class.
Other than that, picking a magic user or two (Witch or Skull) and I'm good. I can't remember whether I went Witch or Skull in D5. Witches are more efficient with magic (plus cute girls and all that), but Skulls are more powerful (SP isn't usually a huge issue, at least late-game when you're high level).
A Thief for stealing things.
Add in another melee class or other, and I'm set.
Felynn/Nekomata - My favourite monster class, not that I generally make use of monster class characters as a rule. Aside from being a catgirl (insta-win there), they're actually very strong, though they lack practical AoE attacks (unless you Magichange). I mean, their final learned skill is an S ranked single-target move (with paralysis as a potential side effect). Pretty devastating. You also can unlock them before the post-game.
EDIT: So yeah, for clarification. I think Lady Samurai is my favourite class overall. I prefer human types, and they're strong and aesthetically pleasing. Felynns are my favourite monster class for both appearance and usefulness I think.
Asagi
As for class probably Magic Knight, who doesn't love magic and swords? :3c
Prinny! Still my favorite monster, dood.
The Maid looks pretty cool. She has that psycho girlfriend vibe (Might call her Yuno)
Sorcerer looks fun to play with. Reminds me of Cubone
Sorcerer is alright, but only if you like to focus on Status Effects and general weakening of enemy troops. On a personal note, I don't find them very practical.
Lady Samurai (Strong melee for early game)
Sage (has a BIG personality, also Land Decimator FTW)
Thief
Girl Laharl (also has BIG personality)
Since he is not, gunna have to say either Zetta or Etna.
As for favorite subclass, never actually played disgaea 5 since I dont have a ps4, but in previous titles samurai and nekomata were my favorites as well.
