Linux - Game only shows small part of screen - sccrews with OS resolution -unplayable

Hi :),

I would quite like to play this game, but sadly, it is currently impossible. I am running Xubuntu 18.04 on a Dell Inspiron 7548 laptop.

When I start the game, I see what I assume is a small part of the menu screen. I can move the cursor into this tiny field of view, but there is nothing there to click. As I could not exit by normal means due to the limited FOV, I brough up the system console and killed the process, but the game had set my OS resolution to something so small I was not even able to change it back. Session restart via console did not help - needed a full restart to be able to reset resolution and have my system usable again.

Help much appreciated.

P.S. Did a quick search on the forums, but could not find a solution. Found one thread that was similar in which a dev asked the asker to email him, but I cannot find the email address suggested in the link quoted in that topic, so I am just posting here.
