For me this means that the sequel project is on hold, because everybody involved only got limited time and currently there are no resources to employ a full-time developer.
Note, that's only the Redux project (the project to remake the FotW with bugs removed). FotWO is not on hold AFAIK.
It's been quite a while now since it has been announced that there will be a sequel. Since then and now there was a lot of radio silence in the media channels, especially if your main source for information is the corresponding facebook page and not soothsayergames.com
Might be a good idea to get corresponding domain names for those two projects so that the information situation is cleared up a bit.

Long story short, we had a difficult first year as a company, but have bounced back, and are now hard at work on our Kickstarter campaign. Expect to hear a lot more from us over the coming weeks!
I paid when it was first released and was not impressed. Looks like a money grab for people not familiar with a six-year-old game.
To be fair, the original devs of the game had problems even before it launched, and they folded outright in I think 2013. Some of the original team finally managed to acquire the rights in I think 2015 or 2016. I originally agreed to assist with a project that involved working with the original game's source code, but the code is so byzantine, the game is so old (and thus development on it would not be as financially viable), that the new dev team is so tight with resources that I doubt the original game will get any serious update.
I would be very interested in any potential sequel, or some Redux version with updated statistics and historical events.
I realise I am probably just shouting into the void here, but I figured it was worth a shot. ^^
