Indeed, Lara in the HD console version appear to rendered with more detail, but honestly, I myself prefer the PC version. I played the game with everything maxed out and I thought the game was beautiful, and to quote my friend it had "breathtaking sceneries" which I completely agree.
To me, the Lara in the HD console version look like like a zombie.
Yes, the game is beautiful indeed. But I'm surprised it's even more beautiful on PS3/X360 when it comes down to graphical fidelity.
When you're talking about image quality (resolution, anti-aliasing) PC will always be superior. But that's not what I'm complaining about.
It seems that they just grabbed the PS2 version and ported it on PC whereas for Xbox 360 and PS3 they "remastered" it a little with additional features.
You should rather compare with the XBOX 360 version, which was released at the same time as the PC one.
Personally, I played Anniversary first on Xbox 360, and am now re-visiting it on PC, and the only real differences I noticed were that the water effect on PC looks a bit suspect (I don't recall that weirdness with the "warping" water effect bleeding into foreground objects on 360) but I'm loving playing the game at 60fps on PC.
Oh yes, and I don't like the way the PC version insists on referring to mouse controls in the tutorial pop-ups even though I'm playing it with a gamepad! That's ... not helpful.
But, overall, I think the slinky 1080/60 gameplay I'm getting, even on my fairly elderly PC, outweighs any gripes. Gameplay is king, after all. The lighting on Lara's face *does* look nice in those PS3 screens, but - let's face it - most of the time while you're actually playing the game it's her rump that's to you.
