Gaaah Grappling Hook!

So I am playing onn a PC and am having a hard time getting to grappling hook function to work. I am in the croft mannor trying to jump backwards and hook to a loop on the wall. Does anyone have any tips on using the grappling hook?

In all honesty it is just timing. Croft Manor is deceptively challenging at some points. A little tip i can give is to scope out the are first. Check out where the grapple point is at and plan your moves accordingly. Make sure to hold off oyur jump until the very end, if you are sliding, and hold the jump button down for a bit. Also keep an eye out for the grapple icon as you're in the air. It may take a little trial and error, but if you're doing it right you will get it eventually.

You have to press the key to where you want to jump. But I don't quite understand what you're trying to do, you can't grapple on someplaces from certain spots because it would be like cheating
