Tomb Raider: Anniversary

Tomb Raider: Anniversary

PSA: Turn on V-Sync. Cap your frames.
Also, for people that use their graphics card control panel, disable fast V-sync or any equivalent as uncapping the games framerate will break the physics and, in turn, will render a whole slew of simple jumps and physics puzzles either very difficult or impossible in some cases. Keeping this in mind will make the difference between a fun experience and a dreadful one.

When you click on the game to play, a window will pop up with two options to tick: One to start the game and one for the graphics options. The option to turn on V-sync (which caps your frames to 60fps) will be in the latter and if there is no other conflicting program messing around with that particular video setting, such as your graphics card control panel, then you should be fine. If you are using your control panel to tweak settings in 3D programs then open your control panel, go to "manage 3D settings" if you are an Nvidia user (If you are a non Nvidia user you may have to google your proprietary program and its layout). There will then be two bars to choose from: "Global settings" and Program settings", choose Program settings. There will be a drop down menu, if you do not find the installed game in that menu then click the add button to the right of the drop down menu where you will have to navigate to your games installation folder and select its .exe file, after that a settings menu for the selected game should show up. Explore this menu and note that any settings that impact frame-rates or V-sync directly should be application controlled. After you've finished, be sure to apply your changes then close out the menu.

Note that even with the game and its physics working properly, this is still a notoriously janky experience. You will come across bugs and glitches often, just none of them will screw up necessary-for-progress jumps and make it impossible to proceed. Remember that this is a PC port of a remastered PS2 title whose series later got rebooted. Its a fun game that at the end of the day I really enjoyed, just not without encountering some hurdles.

My game is capped at 60fps but the sound is choppy/wierd. What should I do?

I have not personally experienced this issue. I did look it up to see if I could pull any solutions but didn't find anything. Sorry I couldn't help.

I never have issue at 144fps lol, and I used Nvidia Control Panel to max it at 144fps, used to run at 360fps+++

Well in that case, maybe I should clarify; If you're running your game without a frame cap or V-sync and having no issues then my advice shouldn't apply to you, but for those who uncap their frames and are met with animation bugs or game breaking glitches, this may help.

I and my whole family have been huge fans of the original TB trilogy for ~20 years now, and Anniversary is very on par with the original games, has the same spirit and I definitely enjoy it. But it sure has been a buggy mess for me.

Animals get constantly stuck in textures. The first T-Rex boss also was stuck in the textures the whole fight and I took him out with guns even though judging by those spikes shooting was not the intended way to deafeat him .

It seems that the centaur fight also was bugged for me. I somehow also slowly shot them down - it seemed that I was doing no damage, but they slowly started to lose big chunks of health eventually. After the fight I watched a video where a centaur dropped his shielf after a succesful headshot. I did many headshots but the shield never dropped. I read though that you could grapple the shield with hook too, but I didn't try it. Seems like a bug either way that I could just shoot them down without turning them into stone first.

Today another game breaking bug at Obelisk of Khamoon level where Lara just doesn't grab the ledge. Found out it was because I had V-sync turned off which I do automatically for any game to not lose any frames. As soon as I turned it on I could of course make the jump on the first try.
