can't get adrenaline dodge to work on centaurs...boss is impossible!
I never mastered that adrenaline dodge move! Still can't, my timing is never good, I'm just not fast enough. Seems like you need more than two hands for this, it's infuriating! Any tips for making this fight tolerable to get past it? Controller only makes movement worse, tried it in Damecles room. Grappling the sheilds doesn't work either, it refuses to grip them. I'm getting sick of dying and trying to time it better and failing...but I'm too stubborn to just give up.

For the centaur fight:

- If you have the upgraded pistols, use them. They'll trigger the centaur rage much faster, and do damage faster. Win win. (Shotgun is nearly useless in this fight.)

- Crouch instead of looking away when the centaurs rear up and shoot their green flame at you. You won't get frozen if you crouch and you can still maintain visual contact.

- Don't Adrenaline Dodge until the enemies are quite close, otherwise you'll dodge too soon. Adrenaline Dodge is direction key + TAP the Shift key (don't hold it). Make sure Lara is locked on to the enemy that is actually charging when attempting the Adrenaline Dodge (and not a centaur behind or to the side, or, more tricky, in front of the charging enemy), otherwise the Adrenaline Dodge won't work.

- Don't bother trying to grapple the shields until after you've stunned a centaur (after a successful adrenaline dodge). They'll stand completely still, head drooping, shield exposed. Q to grapple, E to pull.

- For Phase 2, simply trigger the rage, then pick up a shield to reflect the centaurs' green flame back at them. They'll freeze in place for a brief period, allowing you to shoot them at will. One full clip of the upgraded pistols should take a single frozen centaur out before it can unfreeze.

Good luck!

Thanks! I didn't think to use the upgraded ones because they're limited, lol. I'd seen all that done in playthroughs, just not explained thoroughly. I'll see what I can do. :)

Is there any shame in admitting that I am just NOT GOOD at Boss fights? LOL ♥♥♥♥ those things, and their stupid fire balls! XP

Nah, no shame. Controls can be a fidgety mess sometimes, too. Dodge is usually pretty reliable, though (if a small bit delayed at times).

Funny thing: I had my boyfriend connect his Switch controller, his dodge command didn't sync, so...he had me press the dodge button and then E to pull the sheilds away! I was embarrassed to admit I needed him to fight for me, but he ended up needing me for the buttons he couldn't push. How's that for comradery? LOLZ

After many...many attempts, because I did not look for tips on the forum, the dodge eventually worked when I understood that I needed to maintain the guns locked on the target and not shoot at them after the trigger of their charge...centaurs were done then in 5 min, frozen only once with the shield directed to them, and died.
The big boss in the great pyramid was done in 2 min.
