Is this the DS remake?

I remember playing a Ni no Kuni DS fan translation but never got around to finishing it.
It had a book alongside the game with spells and lore and stuff which was really cool. Does this also have something like it? Or am I mistaken and this is not even the right game?
Whatever the case I'm looking forward to playing this.

yes its the same game the book is just ingame now but it is still as cool with all the lore and such

It ist actually based on the PS3 version. The PS3 Version was an slightly different game. There is ingame a book which containes all the information you need. But in the the beginning most of the pages are blank. You fill them when you progress further through the game. When the game released in europe there was a collectors edition which not only has a plush drippy but although Olivers book with a hardcover in it. I love this
