[Tutorial] Rebinding the Battle Command Select keys

You can't rebind the - and = keys for selecting the battle command, it's hidden even though you can rebind the familiar select keys which are also - and =, but you can change it in the Keybindings.ini file

Don't know where it is on windows (might be something like userdata\######\798460\remote) but on linux it's

steamapps/compatdata/798460/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment/Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch Remastered/KeyBindings.ini

The entries you are after are Left0_btn and Right0_btn in [Combat], by default should be set to 12 and 13, the same ones under [Combatmenu] I think are for select familiars.


Finding key's values
to find a key's value, set it ingame to some key, exit the keybinds screen. The file will immediately update when you escape, but if you changed something ingame the battle command keys get reverted to - and = so once you get the settings right alt+f4 out of the game and optionally set the file to read only. Load the game up and it should be good to go. Recommend using a diff tool like https://www.diffchecker.com/ to see which values changed

Here are some ones I found:

12 = -
13 = =
285 = right control
54 = right shift
2 = 1 key on keyboard
3 = 2 key on keyboard

Thanks for this. You really shouldn't have to figure out a game's ini file to change its godawful default keybinds.
