Switch or PC Version?

I'm torn between getting a Switch version for the portability or the PC version for the better graphics and steam achievements. Getting both at the moment isn't an option (i wish!). Are the enhancements worth the loss of portability on the switch would you say? Some RPGs that are really long or grindy really shine on the switch due to portability, making it easier to pick up and play.

I don't know much about the Switch version, but maybe you could read up on it to make sure it doesn't have any major issues to look out for. Outside of that, I would go with the version you think makes the most sense to you for now. Would you rather play it portable? Then get the Switch version. However, if you just want the best version, get the PC port. It's great. It looks fantastic, and can be run to look far better than the Switch version ever will.

I guess one other thing to consider is that you will likely be able to get the PC version for much cheaper down the line, as there will always be Steam and Humble Bundle sales, etc. The Switch version most likely won't get those same kinds of price drops, probably ever. So if you want both versions in the long run, you might actually spend less getting the Switch version now and the PC version later on deep sale.

Just decide what is more important to you now, I guess.

I went with Switch and don't regret it. If you plan to play in handheld, the GFX are gorgeous on the small screen, it really feels like you're playing an anime. On a (big) TV it essentially looks like it did on the PS3. Performance wise it's been fine so far.
The "Remaster" has no enhancement beyond higher resolution and fps, there's nothing remastered. 60+fps is nice, but not mandatory for this type of game IMO.

If you really care about fps, pc version. If not, switch, tbh. Although i'm not sure if teh switch version has all DLC too?

Switch is a classic port, PC is the remastered version...

Portability does NOT outweigh remastered IMO...

Seriously, though, they aren't unnecessary, because it depends on what you want from your game. I personally do want to play this game with better graphics, because that enhances my enjoyment of it. Playing in 4K, with 16x AF, at 60 fps on a 50" television makes it, as was previously said, like playing an anime or Ghibli film. Actually, better in some ways, since it's a higher frame rate. I can never go back to the PS3 version now.

But, if portability is a priority, then the Switch version may be the way to go. But yeah, ♥♥♥♥ achievements. This is a totally different topic, but I feel like they've ruined at least some aspect of how people approach playing or feeling about games.

I mean let's be fair here. The base game looks great already and all they've done with the remaster is upscale it for modern hardware.. The graphics didn't make some magical leap. They're still the same.

So far, playing handheld mode I've rarely noticed fps drops and zero crashes or bugs so far.

Thanks for the replies. I think ill get switch as the fps upgrade isn't a huge deal breaker for me.

Uh yeah...PC gets high AA and AF, resolutions up to 4k and uncapped FPS. I don't know where you guys got your information, but the PC version is a lot more than just a 60 FPS upgrade.

I own both and have to say the switch version is the better version, the PC is a bad port with frequent stuttering on world map and choppy cut-scenes, switch runs perfectly fine and honestly looks just as good in handheld mode

I decided to get PC version and run smoothly so far but you can get any version really .

I played the switch version for a bit and it's great. But so is the pc version. So no wrong choice really.

Asking on the Steam Forum for peoples opinion on PC vs Any Console is a waste of time. 99% of the people here will always suggest PC, no matter what.
And most of them are probably right.....
