2 releases 1 game?

Is this really a remake that can justify a new purchase? Don't you think you could have just updated the first game instead of releasing a new product that is almost identical except for the price tag which is almost 3 times higher?

I think the devs should stop selling the old version and GIVE a copy of this updated version to all owners of the old one.

Have you played The Haunting of Billy Classic? I can assure you that they are very different games from each other. This game has been COMPLETELY re-made from scratch, every single part of it aside from some of the music and audio was re-created. On top of that, there is loads of completely new and original content that wouldn't have been possible to add to the old game.

@Targon Studios: I believe what he means is that he hasn't played the NEW version to compare...

Anyhow, I personaly think that giving the re-made version to previous owners would be a good move both for players and the developers - shows good faith and is good PR... (for example, compare the reception of the "definitive" edition for Van Helsing vs. the one for Darksiders 2). It also would'nt mean many "lost sales", since most people won't buy a game "twice".

I also believe only 1 version (the new one, of course) should be up for sale on Steam, so potential buyers that have neither of them won't get confused. Many publishers do that and add the older version as a bonus item for people purchasing the newer one (for example, Divinity Original Sin and Ori and the Blind Forest).

Those are just suggestions though...

Sharing the same exact name is certainly typical of games that are very different from each other. Even the logo...
Jokes apart, I got what this is supposed to be and Dwolfy brought great examples of similar cases... but handled very differently. I would definitely consider his advices.

These are some very good points that I'll have to consider. I probably should have mentioned that everybody so far who's contacted me stating that they own the old game has received a free key from me for the new one. I encourage everyone who owns the old game but not the new one to contact me for a copy!
PhrostB 23. mar. 2018 kl. 19:35
can i get a key?

Asking on here won't benefit in obtaining a key. Perhaps you should add the developer instead.

And provide proof you own the classic of course.

The question would be if the developer prefers Steam contact or just emails.
Then again asking on here is also a fine way because the keys can just be sent as Community Messages. It's a shame Valve doesn't allow developers sending their game to a specific account that way.

If you actually read what the developer said above PhrostB's post......

Thanks for bringing that up @luckz, if you're looking for a key please send me an email at TargonStudios@hotmail.com with picture proof of you owning the first game.
