You can use DEBUG to spawn it tho if you don't mind "cheating".
So is candleplate or tsar the better armour option ?
Should I waste time farming for stones or restart and get candleplate full ??
They're situational albeit I prefer using Tsar over all armor. Personally I don't use heavy helmets, instead I use White Priest Hood (gives you def against 3 elements) - also looks the coolest
neither of these armors is as good as they seem. especially with the new dlc where some enemies can ingore 50% of your defense.
there is simply better armors for defense and offense by now.
unless you really wanna wear it for the design or something i wouldnt bother chaseing either of these sets.
It won't make you invincible like it was possible to be done in previous zones, but there's still hardly anything better than Tsar, at least defense wise against phys/fire while the rest you gotta learn how to fight.
Barrier gear is also super strong against elements, but physical attacks will shred you if you get hit.
chalcedony set has same protection value but also offers 8 barrier. its lighter. its penaltys are FAR less serve on top. and easier to get aswell compared.
tsar just isnt worth it given whats required to obtain it in the first place.
manawall also offers nearly same protection and highest barrier in the game. its WAY MORE LIGHT and has movespeed bonus and zero stat penalty AND buffs your ether dmg by 30%.
if you want defense there is simply better options than tsar currently. like you dont need 90% phys defense or anything. or just make a build that pretty much impactlocks enemys. an enemy that cannot fight back is not threat. so defense becomes irrelevant.
math wise tsar is one of the best sets defense wise but the penaltys and the method to get it make it not worth it. especially with the dlcs now. there is simply better armor thats easier and faster to get.
It's very good set indeed (albeit too ugly for my liking, so I can't force myself to use it), and while Tsar is to a degree harder or rather more annoying to get I get skipping it, but you can also get the helmet pretty easily without trying much before going to Caldera (on release when I played without clue I managed to get all 5 stones without wiki) - which will def help and you can swap later to Chalc if you wish. Also then just send it to next character via legacy later and work towards achievement as well. It's pretty easily on 3rd char if all you do is collect stones as you go and craft items/drop them into Legacy.
Getting Chalcedony set also isn't easy, considering it's impossible to be done early, and even once you start TTB you can get it only later.
Both are in the end kind troubling to get, each in their own aspect and both are very good items to use, barrier is very good to have because it protects vs all elements.
Manawall is a different story as he can't use that armor at all on this character, and Barrier armor itself is pretty bad against anything that's not using only magic attacks (which is a lot of enemies).
he wont be able to make use of any of the listed sets for this character unless he cheeses them so yeah. kinda moot argument for any of them tbh.
armor that raises your dmg is in the end always the better choice. as an enemy that dies quickly while beeing impactlocked does little to no dmg to begin with. the difference feels like night and day difficulty wise once youll realize this. nearly every enemy can be killed in 1-2 impactbreaks. most require only 1. and with the right tools this is so stupid easy to achieve.
just make sure you have enough impact defense that the 1st hit from an enemy doesnt stagger you.
and then youre all golden in 95% of cases. as impactlock is the cause of death like 90% of the time from my experience for the player aswell. pure defense rarely helps to prevent that unless you have absolutly immunity. which requires sacrificeing alot for it by now due to the nerfs.
