[Awaiting Confirmation] Did the devs Downgraded the graphics on DE?
The game looks more washed out and detail lacking compared to the original Outward.

Why change the art direction on DE? The game had a nice warmer and cozy lighting. :steamsad:

its a downgrade for sure, DE looks like they removed ambiant occlusion and some post processing that made the game more vivid.

Your settings don't carry over between editions. All control configs and graphics settings are reset to defaults essentially. Check your graphics settings.

Already did that.
both games at very high

I couldn't point my finger at it. But now seeing both pictures. It's a completely new style they went with.

I like it though.

The first image, the sun is peaking over the mountain, the 2nd image, its a good 2-3 hours into the day past the first image. The change in graphics could literally be the time change.

Yeah but no. Its the same time frame.
And looking at Twitch streamers playing the game you can see how the game looks more washed out overall in the open world.

What exactly is it you mean by washed Out? For me it looks good. And I play on a rather high res.

You can just notice the differente of colour and saturation looking at the ground textures.

Looking further you can even see a missing tree on the DE screenshot on the top right.

Didn't play yet, but I do hope it's just due to the weather and sun position.

Because honestly, the 2nd screenshot looks kinda like... someone would present me the game from Unity editing window.

It's cool to see more details on the ground, but the background...
Previous color palette masked imperfections much better and given overall, more pleasent vibe imo.

Yeah regarding colour and saturation I see that. For me it looks a bit more realistic. That's what I meant by they must have changed the style of the game.

Regarding the draw distance I always found it rather bad.

In general you seem pretty dissatisfied?

Thanks for describing on point what I feel about the palette change, indeed looks unpolished and something from Unity editing window.

Pls devs, don't let this be the version that will represent Outward moving foward :(

on screenshot i can see a difference on mountain line, there is far more aliasing on the 2nd screenshot, so, DE version, weird...

edit:
Devs on Outward are a little team but they will not keep things lile this, i 100% sure it's just a litlle mistake with the engine or options, maybe a conflict between previous version of the game and DE because installed on a PC where the game was already before.

Heres a screenshot I took with all settings on High at roughly the time in your first screenshot.

Again, your 2nd screenshot is much later in the day. The suns height and the shadows being cast tell as much.

if you are on the DE version, then it's interesting because mountain line don't have this aliasing that is in the 2nd Screenshot of Doomage

I am on DE, but the only option ingame for AA is on/off. So if me and doom have different AA values determined by gfx card settings like in Nvidia control panel for example, then it will likely make a difference ingame.

Was about to ask if devs can give option to choose between old and new palette, lol.
Thanks for clarify the stuff for us.

I mean, technically if someone doesn't how game "looks", can still inject some filter.
