Is there a way to fast travel between towns?
I've been liking this game so far but now that I'm further in I find that travelling from town to town takes quite a while. I'm finding it really killing my motivation to play.

Are there horses or some other kind of mount? A teleport spell perhaps? I'm really finding that as I explore more of the world I want to play less just because of the time it takes to get anywhere.

Heck, are there console commands or mods that add these? Even if these disable achievements I'm okay with that. I'll just do a legit run at some point in the future if I feel the need to 100% this game.

No, there are neither mounts nor teleports nor any kind of fast travel in early or mid-game (and late game but a one-way-teleport from a certain upgraded specialized building out of Caldera)...
What there is, is some equipement (like the Master Trader Set [outward.fandom.com]) and food [outward.fandom.com] that increases your movement speed and/or lowers your stamina consumption. I found the running 'round bearable with those stuff (for most of my play time).

That aside, if you use the Debug Mode[outward.fandom.com] you can increase your (basic) movement speed. I was contented with an increase from '1' to '2'.

Last but not least: there is the Easter Egg Super Sonic[outward.fandom.com]. That's truly hilarious (imho).

Oh my god, that is actually amazing. This reminds me of oblivion on the xbox where I actually figured out how to modify my save file through a hex editor and changed some enchanted shoes I had buff my speed from 2 to 255. I ran so fast that I hit loading screens in the overworld. Also my xbox did not sound like it enjoyed me playing like that.

Oh and apparently the debug menu has something called "area switch" that sounds like it does exactly what I am looking for

Be careful while using debug mode, it is well known to be buggy for some people, my saved are corrupted because of it and now, when i have it activated, quests will reset to their start if i quit the game, enemies respawn instantly after any loading screens, even bosses and sometimes after entering cities, my backpack is totally out of the game, so be careful with that.

Hmm. In that case I'll probably just stick to rolling around at the speed of sound as sonic.

hehe .... I knew you would like that!

Stay away from the 'area switch' in debug!!!! Afaik that is not connected to areas or towns but to 'scenes' (quest stages). I had not mentioned this, right?

Regarding DEBUG \ movement speed: Players who had that set to '10' posted about constantly 'dying' due to extrem fatigue. Those are the reason I never went over '2'

Nobody mentioned this yet, but there's also the Soroborean Caravaneers, though it's pretty pricy. You could take one to Harmatten and wait around for the departure to be where you want, or you could find one outside and camp and/or quit and reload (supposedly this moves their location?) until they're going to where you want I think.

For me I just grabbed the master trader set and hoped I didn't have to go to Levant much, that and Cierzo are the really out of the way places.

Also there's the fun option of just throwing yourself off a cliff once you've entered the zone to get across it to the town, if you're not on a time limit.

By the time the Sorborean can take you where you want you can just go there on foot with a jewelbird mask and master merchant boots, and it'll still be faster.

Needing the 1st dlc for this.

Usually, but the two zone trips from Cierzo or Marsh to Levant or Caldera can be pretty long in terms of game time, so if you really don't want to mess with that you could use them. Marsh to Caldera or Levant without the shortcut is pretty long especially, Marsh - Chersoneese - Emmerkar - Levant? ugh

I usually just hit the equals key, point the vaguely right direction, and wait for sounds of monsters trying to eat me while I go do something else.

Think they said they had the dlc earlier, but yeah.

You'll waste far, far more "game time" spamming sleeping in Harmattan (supposedly resets every 3 days or week, in practice it's more), when getting anywhere from anywhere takes maybe 2 days if you take your time.

I meant in the sense of time spent playing rather than in-game time, but yeah, I should have clarified this better for sure.

I mean, it's not a great option but it is technically fast travel.

Oh that ? Mostly depends whether you have a SSD or HDD :p

Haha, true. I mean, it's a horrible fast travel option, I agree. At most I usually hope to stumble on the outdoor ones when travelling AND get lucky.

Also what's with all the UwU names on this forum, I'm going to get confused. Although you're clearly the original
