Mods
I'm having some trouble setting up mods. I have the Definitive edition.
Am i doing it wrong just by enabling the beta mode in steam and running through nexus mods? I've got the belpin plugin.

You need r2modman

It is best you run mod from thunderstore than nexus

And remember to switch your game to default mono.
"click Outward, select properties, then betas, then change the selection from default to default-mono"

i have a whole seperate issue now that's weirder. I have the Definitive version of the game. Loading mods from R2modman causes Title screen to not work oddly enough.

What mods did you install ? Some might be out of date or broken.
I'd suggest to cross-reference mods you installed check out nexus page for the same mod. nexus has a comments section etc. which thunderstore r2modman don't have

I really just wanted the map marker mod so i could tell where i was lol.

oh i guess i can't post a screenshot but here's where it gets weird.
R2modman isn't able to detect the installation of Definitive edition but it's finding the normal version of the game. I definitely own the definitive version of the game. Do i need to rename the executable?

Huh, that one should be working, i'm playing with it.

Did you install both side-loader & belpin plugin ? And if you did, did you install them manually or via r2modman ?
T6R May 4, 2024 @ 2:48am
The sideloader mod and the belpin plugin seemed to auto install. i'm think i might want to just clear the mod folder itself and start over.

that could be what's causing my issue.

Are you 100% sure you're owning the definitive edition tho ? When did you purchase the game ?

Because they changed Outward to Outward Definitive edition in the store/library when the DE version came out. And it'll show up like that even if you do not own Definitive Edition

If you own 'The Three Brothers' DLC you're owning the Definitive version, if not then you're still on the old game and would need to purchase the three brothers DLC for and upgrade from outward to Definitive Edition

Ah see i didn't know that. Now that i've checked it seems like i definitely have the vanilla copy of the game.

Did you set your game to 'default mono'?

Ah damn, thats a shame. It was recently 85% off, not sure if its still on sale.

Idk why they made that change, a lot of people get confused by it.
