Items and rewards in multiplayer go for a single player
This makes no sense

If I, as the person doing the hiring, decide one person can do the job it doesn't work to pay double to hire two. Either I as the payer would need to halve the payment, meaning you two collectively make one person's reward/portion and I give half to each of you, or you would have to decide amongst you how to split the reward that was intended for a single person.

If I hire you to go hunt trogs and you choose to bring a friend, you hired your friend and are paying them out of your reward. Think of the decision to bring a friend as subcontracting.

Edit: not saying that train of thought fits every quest perfectly, but for some it would make sense.
I am not trying to start an argument though. It would be great for the whole party to receive identical rewards.

dude at the game asks you to have a water skin to go out then teaches you a skill.

If there's two players, only 1 needs the water skin and he doesn't teach any skill to the second player. There's also only 1 water skin for free.

Excellent points. It would be nice if both could learn the skill (even if sharing one waterskin)

Out of curiosity if his verbiage was changed to say something like "I'll teach your leader a skill" to note that only one skill is being taught, and it's to the spokesperson for the party, would that make it better in your eyes?

No, if it's two players they should get the same help from the NPCs, even if rewards were capped.

I'm sure this is not true, since if one of the players does something the other will teleport to that point in time. This likely means if one does something X and the other something Y, in their own game, it can break the game of the host when a guest joins.

lol no, your own world doesn't progress at all if you are in a friend's world

My friend entered my game and I teleported ahead to the content he had done in his own game

yeah? what mod is that? I've done multiple playthroughs with friends and my world has NEVER progressed unless we play in it

Just get the Raid Mode mod, eventually the Shared Quest Rewards mod.

Don't try to discuss with people who wants to force their (playing) ways on others.
They are not here to help, but to "prove" that their reasoning is best & only option.

Cheers & Merry Christmas.

That's the beautiful thing about mods and modders, it's a win/win situation. We all get to play how we like. I'm thankful.
Merry Christmas!

I think it makes sense. If you're getting a magic sword as a reward, they aren't going to split it into several swords just because you had help. It's pretty normal that if you're getting paid/rewarded for something, you split it between all the people who helped.

But it's true, for a coop game it's not very intuitive or rewarding. I personally don't mind splitting loot with my coop partner manually.

Outward definitive edition with no mods. You can be angry all you want, this game is absolute trash.

I don't know where you're getting 'I'm angry from' your game is either modded, your friend is cheating, or your game is very bugged

you shouldn't be teleporting anywhere unless it's a defeat scenario lol, your world does not progress unless you progress it
