Great Runic Blade

I would really like to make a DK build that would include the Great Runic Blade.
so probs Rune mage / spell B / some melee

any post i read states that the runic blade kinda sucks.
considering its only a 3 minute weapon without any impact on it, does not do it any good.

the ethereal stat on it would make it hit good most of the time tho, it apparantly poisons peoples too? so idk

anyone opinions on this?

Never used the greatsword very much personally, but at the very least, if you have Runic Prefix and Elemental Discharge, the two runic swords both come with infusions to shoot at things, so there's that.

I would avoid using any counter skills with great runic blade since runic blade has almost no impact damage, you are just opening yourself to get hit.
But it pairs great with ritualist and hermit to get the most boost to your elemental damage.
Great runic blade doesn't poison people. With runic prefix, your great runic blades is imbue with decay damage.
