It can feel "clunky" before you get to know it, it can also feel a little empty at times. It's a more realistic take on adventure...the game is hard. It's unforgiving at times. It does NOT hold your hand...it's a real challenge!

The DE Edition is so good, play it in coop if my friend its online and it is way more fun as the vanilla version

because its little more difficult, and some weapons are nerfed because there was way to strong and to ezy to get in the early game

The game does not hand hold player.
Player is not like other open world RPG killing thing left and right from the start.
The enemy is brutal right from the start.
Some environment survival is kinda harsh to manage.

I will say...I was an OG player that came back for the definitive edition...I'm really bummed out about the bug that makes it to where almost no enemies spawn outside of the starting zone. I have no idea how far or how long this lasts...but we are talking about a dangerously empty game as it is...thats now literally empty in areas lol

so there is that issue.

This game is not perfect. In fact, it is far from perfect so it is fair to expect a certain amount of negative reviews.

Some noticeable negative reviews from various individuals (that you properly can figure out if you just read the negative reviews a bit)

1. Clunky combat (e.g. no animation cancel)
2. Empty world (with the recent bug in DE, it became even worse)
3. Numerous amount of bugs that shouldn't appear in a 3-year-old game or a DE.
4. Lack of instructions, information, and hints (some are intentional, some are simply lacking. e.g. there is zero information or hint in-game talking about what corruption is, how does it look like, or how to deal with it)
5. Dated graphic

Game does not hold your hand.
Unless you like exploring and finding things out on your own as well as play on ironman mode, where consequences follow you, you'll like it - but most modern players are too conditioned by themepark on the rail experience AAA games provide you, even if they have open worlds as well.

Its not super hardcore game, but its hardcore enough.

Somewhat agree - it's a very niche game (which is both good and bad, depending on if it's your niche) but 1&4 feel mostly intentional. Corruption doesn't feel that cryptic, it glows, it gives you bad buffs, and alchemist sell potions to reduce it. A new player is maybe likely to die if they hit 100%, but you're intended to die a few times as a new player anyway.

I hope the combat smoother.
Also enemy recover from their moveset too fast. Even good experience from all "from software games" not really useful here due to much slower stamina recover

Because there is no perfect game, nor any game is perfect or even decent for everyone.
Probably the easiest way to find out "why" these reviews are negative, would be by reading them.

it looks too good to be 50%

The bugs are the main thing keeping me back from being generally happy with my recent purchase. The world just feels so empty with no enemies around in Chersonese. If there were more enemies, new players could get more money from fighting average foes to better prepare for the more difficult areas. As it is, you need to know a "route" to money and good equipment to really keep progressing.

Do enemies on the world map ever respawn?

I just added my negative review to the game. I had to, the bugs need to be fixed.

Animation canceling would literally ruin the game turning it into another toddler rpg.

Normally there should be quite a few spawns. Though you mostly make money for ex by farming the magic mountain.

They are bugged atm though. Yes, it sucks since DE was released with such an obvious bug (along some skills not working).

You can see how spawns would be normally if you wait 7 days in cierzo i think for everything to respawn again or start a new game and rush through burac in the main gate. But they'll be gone next time you quit and start the game again (at least that's what happened to me).

Anyway, not surprised by the negative reviews. Devs had a BIG chance to make a proper launch with DE and show how good the game would really be, instead it was a very buggy release and no hotfixes almost 2 weeks after. I do like the game itself, it has a lot of unique ideas and is fun to me, even the combat, but the devs leave a lot to be desired.
