Corruption is everywhere now & no way to resist it?
So how do I do the quest that sends me into the corrupted tomb in Chersonese with Oliele? Do I just tough it out & deal with being corrupted for a while or is there a trick to getting past it?

I did find some corruption cleansing pots but I dunno if they'll be enough.

Playing on console, btw.

ALL alchemists sell sanctifier potions. buy ONE of these. ONE. they remove 20% corruption.
HOWEVER if you combine this one potion with ANY elemental particle (any element works here) on a alchemy station you get 3 purity potions. the elementals are now found in all regions unlike before but the practile drop is not 100%.
a purity potion removes 50% corruption instantly.

if you now make haste you wont have trouble getting trough the tombs for the quest. there is always rooms which arent corrupted. never stop running until you find these. fight the enemies inside these rooms if possible.

aside the wendigo in the first ice room (which also has one of the above mentioned elemental enemies) nothing in the tomb is a big threat if you bring a bolt varnish and a spirit varnish with you. bring 2 each to be safe. use the bolt one for the smaller horrors that use these poisen gas attacks and the other for the ghosts. the bolt one also is really great againist the wendigo.

and do vendavel quest before you travel back to monsoon afterwards. this requires killing said wendigo unless you wanna miss an unique bag reward.

if you make the trip to harmatten (dont if you joined a faction as youll trigger more times now wait till factionquest is finished now) learn the 10% passive tier skill corruption resist.

in monsoon there is 2 pieces of gear sold that grant 30% resist together.

with a quartz potion it takes A LONGASS time to get corrupted debuffs. just make to reuse it when the buff runs out. 2 are enough for the tomb quest unless you stand inside corruption for longer than needed.

the carawan guy can also randomly sell these (unlike quartz they arent 100% sell only about 40% chance):

https://outward.fandom.com/wiki/Innocence_Potion

they only grant 20% resist and are more expensive HOWEVER thier secondary effect with a bit of resist pretty much prevents corruption buildup for the duration as the recovery + about 20-30% resist reduce the buildup to nearly zero.

but these are pricey. only use if you got nothing else of the above.

You don't. Go do something else until you can make potions to resist it.

That's what I've been doing. I maxxed out my character's trees, got him geared up, I haven't even joined the faction yet because I dunno how I'm supposed to get through it & there's no guides. I haven't found a resist potion recipe or resist gear yet.

There is food that gives resistence in Harmattan and there are potions at all vendors everywhere to remove it.

Thanks for the info, i been browsing the wiki the past hourish tryin to figure out what I can do, I just found the enchant for Corruption Resist so hopefully I can do that as well as do the potions & just try to keep moving when I get to doing the quest.
Nerevar May 28, 2022 @ 2:48pm
forget the enchant. its not worth it. make the potions instead. especially if you lack elemental particles. the only enchant worth doing for this is "spirit of monsoon" as you get 15% as a side effect. only useful for lighting builds.

i just did tombs with 1 resist potion and it took one - corruption to bring me back to pure, both i bought from alchemy vendor ez pz. forget making stuff just raid some dungeons and you will find food / potions ect. depending on what faction you join the tombs are a quest and by the time you get it everything you need is at alch vendor.
Quillithe May 29, 2022 @ 10:43am
It's also worth mentioning that you can just take the corruption. Until you hit 100% it isn't that bad, and if you just be sure that happens at full health and drink an antidote afterwards it is fine.

Also I'm pretty sure they changed how 100% works, it happens to me and I think it dropped my corruption lower than 90%, to 30% or something easily manageable.

you didnt buy both from the alchemy vendor as you cant. the resist potions are only sold by the carawan guys and in harmatten. not elsewhere.

the tombs really arent big. very few enemies aswell and mostly these weak horrors which die in like 2-3 hits and cannot even block or dodge. so you never needed much to begin with.

you dont even need any potions if you know where to go for the quest etc. the dungeon is short and simple.

Buy Resistens gear (Silver Armor or Palladium Armor) and u can stay for 30-40 min and no problem, and if u use a Resistens potion u can stay longer...its not that hard to use game mechanix
King of Evil May 30, 2022 @ 3:20pm
I got through it with 25 resistance, died once to the wendigo. didn't feel like finding bone guy's limbs after that so I smashed his head in.
