Note that also includes the developer debug menu method of reloading old saves, if that's something that interests you (As well as how to enable the developer debug menu). Hope that helps. o.o
I'm assuming it's a known bug. Whether or not the developers will fix it is another thing entirely. :Shrugs:
I agree with this, as it limits cheese factor in away, although it is unfortunate as well, with this downside.
Also, OP, do not take open advice to use a cheating tool (debug menu from @JackBaldy) to circumnavigate a system that is in place that is a game mechanic (cheaters never win, do they @JackBaldy.. you should know this). The Dev's made this game specifically in this manner stating that your choices are something you live with, which is why only one save file per game play. The only way you and your friend can get the weapon is to join another instance hosted by another player (you can ask for one on the forum, I am fairly sure someone will help you out) and only if that person hasn't already looted that item, as unique items are only dropped by named monsters once in each host game (no matter how many times you kill them).
