in your opinion which is the best breaktrough skills.
what i mean by this question is JUST the breaktrough passives themselfs. NOT what you can unlock behind them aswell. please ignore that when makeing your call on this.

you can choose your top 3.

only judge based on the breaktrough passive ALONE.

so dont say "warrior monk cause master of motion" only look at the breaktrough effect itself then call 3 as your top breaktroughs.

my picks :

hexmage (heals 5 burnt stat on each of the 3 when killing an enemy and also restores the amount)
cabal hermit (50% stronger boons/100% stronger phys one)
philosopher (passive mana regen which stacks)

Easily Shaman because of what you already said.

Rest aren't anything special on their own. Sure Hex is cool because of burnt removal and Monk because of stamina - can't ever have enough stamina, but none can hold up on their own as much as Resonance.
Brummbär Jan 22, 2021 @ 12:19am
Hunter and Warrior monk more stamina and health is always good. It is a 40% increase in your survivability had many calls in Coop and Singleplayer where the extra health saved my life ex if cought off guard.

Other than that merc Breakthrough. Pretty self explaining since you walk or run a lot in this game 10% makes it a bit more faster.
Nerevar Jan 22, 2021 @ 2:35am
tbh hunter is not a 40% increase in survivability. as fitness exists and other hp boosting passives aswell. so that statement is simply incorrect by default as there no reason to not learn fitness and its in the first town on top.

i agree on the is always good part tough.

merc speaks for itself i guess. but as a breaktrough i find merc a bit lacking compared to others.

I took the breakthrough point thing by heart.

Sure you are right not gonna complain if you take other (smaller) perks in consideration or perk Quest rewards.

All comes down to personal preference and the kind of fighting style someone has in mind.:chug:

I am somewhat new but been playing for about 3 weeks now. I would agree with most that is largely depends on play style.

As I have been playing a mage type, cloth wearer. I love the mana regen of "Layline connection", love the damage increase of boon protects/damage by "Shamanistic Resonance" and the advances skills of "Well of Mana". I almost wish for another breakthrough point and more quickslots.

I have been playing a hex mage too. I took blood sigil over rupture. However, I am finding it's takes too long to create a blood stone unless I farm them first. If I were to do it again, I think rupture would be better. I like to set an runic trap, hex, torment them until they die. If they are more difficult, I will use multiple sigils (usually wind, blood, fire...seems I never have enough coldstones made).

Spellblades are fun...I tried to focus my builds on one particulate element like fire then locate gear to add the best damage. However, I see many armors come with a price. Some will sacrifice physical damage for a boost in a particular element's damage. Then, I've noticed that some monsters are more vulnerable to one element over another. So then you have that to deal with. So, some fights last longer than others.

Perhaps in a future upgrade, we can craft a Soroborean Caravanner cart that would be like a mobile chest/mount we can drive around, so based on encounter, we can swap gear etc (although splitting in a bank mule character works too but I feel like I am exploiting). Preference I suppose.

I am no expert but having a great time. I hope you find this helpful.

Feather dodge is the best.

I got the skill at my first character but then want to try new classes on my second character. I found out I can't properly fight anything without that dodge cause I always put a lot of potions in my backpack and sometimes different equipment for different enemies in the dungeon.

I remembered when I went into face of the ancients on my second character and I encountered the first cannibal right at the corner. I had a hard time dropping my backpack while dodging the attacks in small space.

Feather dodge is just so convenient. It can help you escape ambush, being ready to fight at anytime cause you don't need to drop the backpack, you can carry a lot more supplies while fighting and most importantly the skill enables you to move quickly when your bag is 100/75 cause of the unhindered rolling.

This post reminds me to get feather dodge in my third character, maybe even every other characters I start will learn feather dodge.

Shamanic Resonance + Bloodlust + Daredevil
Why? Because this is my bosses killer speed run build XP

I'm personally a huge fan of bllodlust simply for convenience sake. It helps to extend your dungeon crawls and make them less painful and resource intensive.

Swift foot.

95% of this game is running. Movement speed means you can avoid attacks easier (or kite much easier). Swift foot saves you more time than any other skill in this game, is useful in combat, and helps offset heavy armor reductions. You can carry more weight because you have a higher pool of speed to drain from. The benefits are endless.

Frankly, movement speed can do more in this game than anything else can. It is easily the most versatile skill and has more synergy with other skills than any other.

What a waste of a breakthrough point.

What a waste of a breakthrough point.
If you want to use a backpack for stats, then it absolutely isn't a waste, especially if you tend to carry a pistol and ammo you can't fit in your pockets with most armor in the game.

the fact you dont even have to dodge at all to complete the game begs to differ on this. however this is about just the best breaktrough passives. not what they unlock. by itself this skill isnt bad.

Well considering the point of the skill is to do something like that, I would argue it is completely relevant.

Shaman breakthrough would suck ♥♥♥♥ if we looked at the breakthrough without taking boons into consideration.

Philosopher's mana regen is pointless without any spell in the game.

You telling me that a backpack passive shouldn't take backpacks into consideration?

what? that isnt what i said AT ALL. how did you come to that conclusion?

what i meant was about the skills this breaktrough gives access too (the tier 3 skills). but these are irrelevant for this topic like i said in the opening post. no clue how to came from that to backpacks.
