The weather in this game is a little extreme
Whether it's standing inside 4 campfires and not getting warmer or burning to death in the desert inside of 20 minutes, this game is absolutely full of over the top weather for that "hardcore" thing they say this game is about

...and it's not a good feature. Having no fast travel on top of forcing your player to set and stare at the screen all night waiting for daylight to warm up is not a good experience. ♥♥♥♥ the weather, it sucks.

Many armor can give you weather protection against hot/cold weather. Warm/cool boon will also help.

This is more of a survival game, than an rpg

Probably only takes 2 or 3 minutes to cross the desert, don't even need to prepare much. Just drinking water, eating nearby cactus fruit, taking off armor should give enough time to travel without passing out.

Cold weather probably a little harder but rather than building campfires you could get by with crafting a torch and limit travel to during the daytime. Will most likely get sick this way but shouldn't have any problem reaching your destination.

Of course if you learn all the food, potion, and skill effects you could prepare things ahead of time and not have to worry about anything weather related.

... Wear appropriate clothing. In the desert bring in extra water flask and maybe some fruit. Tea for the cold. It literally just means you bring 1 piece of food for it.

That doesn't work when you arrive from going between regions and it's winter and already getting dark when you load in

Damn if only i had the space to carry two separate sets of armor along with my garbage and I could control what time it is when I get past the ps2 loading screen
Having a torch and three fires and still freezing is beyond ridiculous

I'm not sure but i don't think the time of day changes when you change the area. If you are that worried about ending up in a winter night when going to Chersonese just sleep until moring before going there.

Even so: Some cold resistance food/tea and the warm boon from spell or potion should be enough together with the passive +8 cold and heat resistance skill from the cabal hermit (it's a tier 2 skill, so everyone can get it for 100 silver). You can also make and carry a torch to give you some even more warmth.

If your gear doesn't have the appropriate weather resistances, carrying consumables to deal with weather conditions should be stock items in your inventory like a tent, water skins or heal potions. If you have mana it's only 0.6 total weight for a tea and some linen scrap (to make a torch, you can find wood everywhere), if you don't have mana, another 0.5 for the warm potion. That's always enough to get you to a safe spot. The only places i can think of where that isn't enough are 2 dungeons.

Edit: And another 10 cold weather defense for 3.0 weight is a fur helmet, or 5 cold weather defense for 1.0 weight with master trader boots or master trader hat or looter mask. No need for a full amor set. Imo you should always carry around master trader boots anyway, the option for 15% running speed for just 1.0 weight is way too convenient to miss out.

Fast travel through Dev console bud
Asmosis Jun 26, 2021 @ 1:19am
Weather was fine, but having to walk back and forth dozens of times through empty areas (because enemies take months to respawn) due to no fast travel got very boring.

Found out about dev console later on, but a word of warning it's chock full of story spoilers.
