Status Effects Vs Raw Damage
Hi Folks. I wanted to ask some fellow veterans who've done a few different builds with the Three brothers DLC. Specifically, do you think that the Blaze damage effect and the Plague damage effect are worth buying into rather than focusing purely on raw damage?

To give you some context I have been of the mind that the more quickly you can take care of an enemy the better. You take down one or two through hi end traps or pistols then deal with the last one or two with impact damaging shield charge followed by fully buffed elemental weapons or with a skilled two handed weapon. A Myr for example would only take ten seconds tops using this tactic. However I went ahead and tried for blaze or plague and ended up dying myself from getting infected by my enemy and even when I didn't it felt like playing tag where I tried to keep away from my opponent. It just doesn't seem feasible or logical to use these methods of killing when straight up damage is possible. What are your thoughts?

Any good builds with these status effects in mind?

It's a bit strange, to be honest. DOT builds are quite good in general. Yes, it takes more time for you to kill a foe but it is also much safer compared to dealing damage directly. However, some bosses are immune to DOT completely which renders the build useless against them. Although you won't lose much even if you deliberately avoid them, just an extra thing to keep notice.

neither is really good tbh. all the new dots are pretty underwhelming by the fact you need the target already on fire to even get them to activate to begin with unlike extreme poisen/bleeding for example. plus the more hp and enemy has the better bleeding gets. not the case for the other dots. and when you then face enemies which have like 1200 hp a dot that deal 3 dmg barely helps compared to just hitting them again.

also you cannot really fokus on RAW dmg aside from perfect meta strike of course.

I did not realize that bleed and poison scale with the HP. That is good info. Not sure how I missed that after nearly two years of playing. Thanks Zeraph.

Note, by Raw damage I meant merely that having your stats up as high as they can go will generally deal more damage (my bad). What do you mean by meta strike Nerevar? Not sure I've heard that phrase on outward before.

not sure why you thank him for that info when i wrote it. but whatever.
also i said BLEEDING works like that. i never said POISEN does.
sadly poisen is fixed dmg of at most 4 dmg (extreme and plague only).

now this can be amplyfied by usein decay dmg % bonuses on gear and skills/potions. but that is sadly still alot weaker dmg wise than directly attacking with a overbuffed melee weapon in the end.

it also like the other guy said already has the downside that ALOT of new endgame enemies and bosses are flat out immune to both bleed and poisen.

what works pretty well is makeing a decay fokused build around the new 1h mace from TTB dlc and joining blue chamber for infuse blood imbue on top. this way the dots come as a side effect of dealing massive dmg on top if geared correctly.

but i wouldnt do a build purely fokused on dots. especially not blaze or holy blaze given the hoops you need to jump trough just to even apply them in the first place.
