same for the angler shield. a bright white light.
but runic is the brightest simply due to its postion above you. would be awesome if they add something like a permanent runic lantern in the future :D like rune stone lantern. casts a permanent runic lantern above you.
lantern of souls is the best normal lightsource as it has infinite duration and a unique animated light glow. djinns lamp (new dlc) is basically a better looking explorer lantern with a better light animation aswell. however by the time youll get that thing game is pretty much over currently.
Runic is too bright, but still with certain backpack I sadly have to use it, lol.
its pretty easy to compare light radius in a very dark room/area. coil is not bigger than the others and requires the power coils to recharge which are 4 times as heavy as for example crystal powder for the virign one but only lasts 2.5 times aslong compared. coiled is just bad.
souls is the best one tough. no contest there.
wish we got more different lanterns. they expanded tents alot with TTB unlike sorobor but only added 1 lantern with each dlc so far. i hope they add some lanterns which take extra effects even when inside the bag. that would add some more options for builds etc aswell.
Even looking at it in game now, it still looks to me that coil wins by a small margin. Certainly not enough to feel inclined to take it over one you feel looks nicer, but coil illuminates more than the others.
eh. 500/500 vs 200/200. and some zones never spawn coils for you.
Even if you left it on constantly and never toggled it off for any reason, that is a massive amount of time to find a coil. Supply caches can have them rarely in most zones. Caldera is really the only zone that might see an issue, and even then you can get them from the gladiator chest.
Either way, I'd argue most people don't leave their lantern toggled on all of the time, let alone spend 100% of their time on a single character if they play long enough for a 20 hour timer to even matter.
if you like it well feel free to use it. i prefer a lantern which also offers stats in case the need arises for them.
technically the virgin lantern is also endless once you enchant it.
personally i cant stand the greenish light from anything that emits it. that color is just wierd after sometime to me.
