been really wanting to play this game just waiting for a friend. i do wish the character creation was a bit better though
Yeah, you can look at any character if you want and they'll look ugly, but you'll have to go out of your way to do so. So, even though i usually care about cosmetics quite a lot, it never bothered me in Outward.
I wondered why the character style chosen for the tutorial looked like an old man, it was a bit strange but I thought, "Ah well, maybe they decided that it would be an old man doing the tutorial stuff".
Once I started character "creation" I realised why - every possible character face available looks like their mothers were drinking heavily while pregnant.
They're hideous!
Regarding Valheim character models,
I feel that they still look attractive within the context of the game's graphic/art style.
Within the game's graphic/art style, with the type of character features provided, it's easy to imagine your character as a hot Nord.
This is not the case with Outward.
They all look below average-looking, like lower-middle class to poverty stricken middle-aged people with health problems, but even "realler" than the real-world, because even in the real world I can still find average to attractive-looking homeless people.
Dear God, the ugly, THE UGLY! It burns us!
